It works, August 10, 2011
I usually don't read a lot of romantic poetry. I thought "Eating the Honey of Words" by Robert Bly was pretty good so it lead me to explore this book by Hollingworth.
All I can say is that I was flat-out knocked down. This book speaks for my soul. I don't know how or why. I can't explain it. Perhaps why I enjoyed this book is simply because the author has an ability to express in words - what I can't seem to spit out. I may not understand poetry - but I don't like mushy. This author transcends the limitations of words and captures feelings. If you are a man that has ever loved a woman, but you find it difficult to articulate your feelings - give her this book. Then just shut-up and listen to her. Believe me - it works.

Loved it, February 22, 2010
This review is from: Wonders (Paperback)
I instantly fell in love with this book's beautiful cover - which was a sure sign that I was going to love the short stories.
In Wonders, I did, indeed, up finding some wonderful stories covering such topics as romance, love sadness. The author has a beautiful way with words - making them feel as though they simply flow gracelly through the story. It made each short story incredibly touching and an absolute joy to read.
What I was not expecting, however, was to actually read a book that would make me stop and think about my life and exactly how I view the things that happen to me. In Sadness, for example, the story starts off with such unhappiness and lethargy and even anger, only to be completely turned around by the things that happen in life - the message being clear - never think that nothing good can come along - always believe. It really is all about how you view a situatin and how you react to it. You are, in most cases, your own worst enemy and your biggest supporter.
This book made me think and made me find a willingness to not believe that everything is always bad. There can be goodness and wonder.

Beautiful writing!, January 20, 2010

"Wonders" by Kevin Hollingsworth is a beautifully written collection of prose. Hollingsworth covers a multitude of topic, each with as much grace and literary elegance as the most accomplished poets. His words create a clear picture in the minds of the reader.
One of my favorite lines in the book is "When I dance my soul awakens, kidnaps my body on an adventure of expression." This book is very short, but full of great little gems that make it well worth the read. I look forward to reading more from Kevin Hollingsworth in the near future.
