5.0 out of 5 stars It's a wonder!
This book was one of my first Amazon purchases and I'm finally getting around to reviewing it. They weren't joking when they are described as "wonders." Yes, I know that this book has items to make that look beautiful or are clever in design. The amazing part are items that will leave other woodworkers completely wondering how you did it. For example, there is a functionally useless demonstration dovetailing two pieces of wood done in such a way that any woodworker will otherwise tell you that you couldn't have done what you did. You'll feel very clever.

Speaking of clever, one wise-acre friend of mine re-organized my bookshelf to place "Wonders in Wood" beside How to Make Love All Night: And Drive a Woman Wild!. I guess I'm recommending the other book as well.

Not a fan of this book. It is more of a picture book than anything. The diagrams show some measurements and give you a little info on the project but there is no step-by-step directions if that is what you are looking for. Some neat little wood puzzles are in the book but most of them are the puzzles where you take the thing apart and wonder how you get it back together or look at it an wonder how it was made.
