Product Description

If youre trying to conceive, our Ovulation Tests represents an excellent value on the highest quality ovulation test strip available. Theyre FDA-approved, highly sensitive (detecting a level of 25 miu/ml LH), and provide a high degree of accuracy in pinpointing your most fertile time of the month. Ovulation Test Strips work by allowing you to detect your monthly "LH Surge" - the dramatic increase in Luteinizing Hormone present in your urine just before you ovulate. Since the best time for fertilization of your egg to occur is within 6-24 hours after you ovulate, correctly gauging your body''s cycle is extremely helpful in increasing your chances of becoming pregnant.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent test and excellent buy May 17, 2006
By C. Pace
These are wonderful tests and a financial God-send. I have Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS), which means I normally don't ovulate - hence becoming pregnant is difficult. Having the information from these strips was great for our "trying to conceive" journey, both for us and for our doctor. But also, having to use these for more than 9 months before we finally did conceive, the difference in cost between these and what is available in stores was wonderful. I knew we were in this for the long haul, and I'm so glad I found these strips before we actually began to try.

I used them for about 15-20 days of each cycle for nine months, never seeing an actual positive result. I admit, I did wonder whether they actually worked or not. But after three months of metformin (glucophage), my body regulated and ovulated, and these tests detected it. There was no question - I had a positive test. And two weeks later, a positive pregnancy test. I absolutely recommend these strips. I ovulated on day 25 - much later than you'd usually think ovulation would happen. Thanks to these tests, I knew.

No, they don't come in frilly packaging. And yes, I was shocked at first at how it just came in a manila envelope, no instructions. But the tests are individually packaged and sterile. Paying for the frills just isn't worth it to me - I'd rather save that money to buy the baby something! Plus, I prefer the "pee in a cup and dip" method to the midstream tests - somehow I managed to complete nine months of never peeing on myself while peeing in a cup, but when I try one of those midstream things, it goes everywhere.[...]

5.0 out of 5 stars Finally Pregnant!!! November 16, 2008
I started using these "stupid strips" about 6-8 months ago and could not get a positive result for anything! The test line would get darker during the month but still only about 1/2 the shade of the control line. I thought it was due to the strips not working. Come to find out, after consulting my doctor, I found out that I have Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS), which means that I don't ovulate normally, only about once every 3-5 months. My doctor put me on Clomid to "trick" my body into ovulating and after adjusting the dosage the lab test showed I ovulated on the 2nd month but not pregnant. So I pulled the strips back out and figured, what the heck, what do I have to loose?! So I started testing again at home to try and find my exact ovulatioin date. There it was, on day 17 of the 3 month on Clomid, I got a positive result (a positive result was more than obvious. I think my line was darker than the control)!! So I read the directions (which were included in the pack and that I had printed off the companies web-site like it told me to do- [...] to have intercourse after 24 hours of testing positive but before 48 hours. So today, day 32 of my cycle, I took a test (actually 2 tests) and PREGNANT! Without these strips we may have missed our window of opportunity! I wish everyone the best and hope you get the same great results I did! I will NEVER call these strips "stupid" again and will be buying more in the future if we decide to have a second child. 100% recommended! If you don't get a positive result, you might want to consult your doctor to do lab work to make sure you're ovulating. Don't automatically assume the strips don't work because they do!

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent price and wonderful product June 1, 2011

I know a lot of people say that these tests do not work and that the directions are vague, but they are really not that complicated, I don't know how you can't understand them. They are NOT like pregnancy tests in that even if you see a faint line, it's positive. My cycles have been off since stopping birthcontrol so I decided to use these each day of my cycle. For the whole month I had a faint test line and a dark control line. The day before the surge it was quite a bit darker than normal, but still not equal to or greater than the control line. The next day it was an OBVIOUS positive. The test line was much darker than the control line and showed up very quickly. Tried it again the next day and it was back to negative (which is what it is supposed to do.)
There is a note that comes with the individually packaged strips that gives you a website to go to if you need more specific directions.
The only advice that I can give is that it says you can test at any time of the day on the website, however to have the most accurate results, it needs to be after 10am. They are not like pregnancy strips where the highest concentration is in the morning. In fact you can get a negative result if you test too early in the morning. Also, since a LH surge can be very brief (less than 24 hrs) it's best to test twice a day. Once b/t 10am-2pm and once from 5pm-8pm.
Love these!
