About the Author

George Ostrom has been a reporter for more than 60 years. He has contributed articles and photos to national magazines from Sports Illustrated to the Saturday Evening Post.

Shannon Ostrom served five years as a seasonal ranger in Yellowstone National Park and currently works at Glacier National Park, where he grew up hiking, mountain climbing, and watching wildlife. He is the son of co-author George Ostrom.
