I was one of the first to pre-order this from Rasmussen's website. After reading it, it made me wanna rush out and see the movie. Now that I have, I'm gonna re-read the book. Very insightful nuggets and a must-own for Charlie/Wonka fans.

I heard about this book at a Christian Camp where the speaker for a group of 4th-6th grade students. This book not only kept them entertained through the relation to Wonka, but also led them to ask big quetsions, about God and salvation. This is a must for upper elementary children's ministry

This review is from: WonkaMania: The Search for Your Golden Ticket (Paperback)
A great book for the young, the young-at-heart, and especially the analytical! Kris Rasmussen writes in a friendly, engaging style, yet provides a thorough analysis of Biblical themes throughout the story. She uses the characters and their trip through the chocolate factory as a vehicle for illustrating spiritual truths in a way that is easily understood.

I used parts of the book for a 5 day Jr. High VBS program with great results. The parents were excited about it, the kids had fun, and I was able to elicit some interesting discussions about faith.

Recommended for use with kids, or just for your own pleasure. A fun and thought-provoking read.
