5.0 out of 5 stars Made My Christmas
I got It Wont Be Christmas With Out You. In October. And I can not stop litening to this CD. Brooks & Dunn pulled all stops to put together a fantastic Christmas CD.. Ronnie Dunn's voice is perfect on every song. He pulls your heart stings on the title cut. Then has you smiling and singing along on Hanging Round The Misteltoe... He has made Blue Christmas his.. Kix...

3.0 out of 5 stars More maudlin that I anticipated
My first disappointment was that there was no Slim and Howdy story! This CD was also a bit more maudlin that I had anticipated. I know it's what Ronnie does best but in a Christmas CD I would prefer a little less heartache. Winter Wonderland is done in a very upbeat Brooks and Dunn way and overall this is a fine CD.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Christmas album for everyone to enjoy, November 14, 2006
This review is from: It Won't Be Christmas Without You (Audio CD)
Ronnie Dunn is a brilliant singer while Kix Brooks is merely a good singer, but Kix has an outgoing personality that more than compensates for any vocal imperfections. These characteristics are demonstrated clearly in this excellent collection of Christmas songs old and new. Ronnie's style is more suited to the laid-back songs while Kix really lets rip on the up-tempo material. Although Ronnie normally sings lead on the majority of the duo's songs, this album is different. Ronnie sings lead on It won't be Christmas without you, Blue Christmas, The Christmas song and I'll be home for Christmas, all of them ballads and all superbly performed.

On all the other songs, Kix sings lead and his enthusiasm shines through. If Rocking little Christmas doesn't get those toes tapping, nothing else will. For absolute perfection, it might have better if Ronnie had sung lead on White Christmas, but Kix does a fair version of the song and I cannot fault him elsewhere on the album.

The five original songs are all of a high quality while the six covers are all well known classics. This is a hugely entertaining album that can be used as background music but will also appeal to anybody who wants to give it undivided attention.

5.0 out of 5 stars Not just retreads of standards!, November 22, 2002

I've been waiting for years to hear Ronnie Dunn sing "Blue Christmas". I am not disappointed. With his great penchant for cry in your beer songs, you KNOW that this man could make you cry over "Blue Christmas". He invoked similar emotions with the original "It Won't Be Christmas Without You". Don't think that the entire disc is maudlin and heavy. Kix Brooks springs some fun energy into songs like "Santa's Coming Over to Your House". The treatments of the standards are respectful of the originals, but not just tired re-treads. This disc is going to get lots of play for years. Thanks Kix and Ronnie! You didn't disappoint me.

5.0 out of 5 stars Ho Ho Hopelessly crazy for Brooks & Dunn, October 22, 2002
Ok, it may be two months before Christmas, but who says holiday albums have to wait til Thanksgiving to put you in the Christmas spirit. This is the dynamic duo's first holiday release, and it is simply already a classic. From the old favorites "Winter Wonderland," "Blue Christmas," and " Santa Claus is Coming To Town", to the original "Santa's Coming Over to Your House" or my personal favorite, "Rockin' Little Christmas", you'll find yourself playing this CD all season long. While Ronnie Dunn is typically the voice most are familiar with hearing in Brooks & Dunn songs, Kix Brooks is the fiestier singer, adding personality and fun to each of his cuts. All in all, it's a really nice way to bring in the holidays, and hopefully, Santa will drop off that 6'2" package of Louisiana cowboy under my tree for writing this review. Ho Ho Ho!

5.0 out of 5 stars It won't Be Christmas Without You, November 4, 2002
I love the CD! Some of the old standards are moving, but I think the title song will become a new Christmas classic. The lyrics are great, but the music is incredible.

Wow! What a great collection of songs. They did a professional job and did it their own 'cowboy' way. I have bought three copies so far for friends and family. This is the BEST Christmas CD to come out in a long, long time. My favorites are 'It Won't Be Christmas Without You' and 'Who Says There Ain't No Santa Clause' Thanks Kix and Ronnie for the early Christmas present! Linda (B&D fan club)

Heard this album for the first time when my friend was playing her copy. Tried to buy it within Australia, but was unable to get it here. Found it on Amazon (where else?). Played the cd several times, even though Christmas was over! It will be the first one out next Christmas. Excellent service from Amazon. Was amazed at how quickly I received my parcel.
