mind-blowing is the first word that comes to mind when i think of park's new cd. it's simply incredible. the instrumentation is amazing, and once again, the lyrics are very emotional and moving. i highly recommend this album! if you like this, you should also pick up their other cd "no signal". if you like "no signal" you'll like "it won't snow where you're going", too!

just to get it out, this album is awesome. it will play in rotation car for months.
why? as had been said before, the muscianship on this cd is amazing. if you enjoy breaks in your songs, changes of pace, well designed instrumentals (like i do) this cd rocks. The lyrics are very deep and meaningful. u can feel Ladd's pain. This album is like his audio diary. its a testament to this stretch of his life. its very very(some may think overly) perosnal, and becasue of that, the themes of heartbreak, depression, suicidal tendancies and resentment reveal themselves bluntly in the lyrics. some may think Ladd is whining too much (even for an "emo" cd)but if you take it for what it is, this cd gets done what music is suppose to do. the fundamental foundation of music is to get your thoughts into musical harmony. Park isnt trying to sell a millions copies. if you listen to a band like story of the year(who i think are now GOLD in sales) most of their lyrics lack any kind of substance and underlying meaning. its G rated material, great for KISS FM and not get bashed on by concerned parents. But i always believed lyrics should have some level of depth. i love this cd, some will hate it. if you listen to this album and think its too emotionally charged, but like the style of playing, listen to their older record "no signal". its less grahically emotionally charged and painful but still contains the muscianship found on "It Wont Snow" only reason this dosnt get 5 stars is the video of codex avellum doesnt use the live sound from where they are playing. the audio/lip syncho sucks too. i guess they got lazy making the enhance features on this cd.

This record is amazing. It's no small task to craft an album that defies punk and metal. But this record burns between the two with fantastic results. If you like music, then buy this album.

Nothing less than breathtaking...,
This review is from: It Won't Snow Where You're Going (Audio CD)
This is one of the most emotionally packed albums I've ever heard. The lyrics are anything but cliche. The lyrics are filled with angst and personal demons all spilled out on paper, with nothing left out. The musical aspect is also amazing. The guitar work is complex but not over done and the drummer is unbelieveable. This band is very tight and together. One of the best 10 song albums I've ever bought and it's worth every penny. Don't be fooled by the small label; Lobster records has a lot of talent and Park is by far the cream of the crop. Not owning this album is highly frowned upon and i suggest that you buy it as soon as you're done reading this review. Guarenteed to alter your moods.

Why must I ask,

Why must park be so under rated when they are better then some bands out there... It just makes me ask why. Like why is it so hard to find and like why is it mixed amongst all these linkin park albums... That is all besides the point. Park is a great band expesically if you like the Hot Rod Circuit, because I think that they sound a lot alike. But they each have there own style that makes their music a lot better. What Im trying to say is go buy this cd by park cause if you don't you won't have it...

The depressing lyrics and the awesome music level me off,

How could anyone knock this masterpiece? The only problem I have with this album is that the depressing, often suicidal, lyrics get a bit daunting after a while. But the musicianship is phenomenal. Park has a unique twist to their sound, both in how they play, particularly guitars, and their fronting vocals. I challenge anyone to find me a guy with a voice that sounds like Ladd Mitchell. The bass player Gabe's screaming in a few songs, particularly the album closer "Codex Avellum," is a nice touch but sometimes seems to take them too close to lame "emo" bands like Thursday. I'm not trashing that song, though, I think that at the moment of writing this review that it's my favorite on the album. At last for the moment. Too bad Gabe's gone and original bassist Timmy is back in. No. That's not too bad. Timmy's better. This album is really really good, but unless you can really really appreciate musicianship above the message of lyrics, I wouldn't get it expecting it to be an album that puts you in a good mood.

If you have listened to this cd and don't at least appreciate what this band did their entire career then you probably don't play an instrument, or are just insane. This is in my opinion, their best cd. All of them are awesome though. If you're looking for cheery, sugar coated, easily digestible, or trendy crap then get another cd. If you want a great release from an honest and real band, here you go.

"I think I would be lying if I did not say I enjoyed this",
This review is from: It Won't Snow Where You're Going (Audio CD)
Excellent a class act, brilliant on first listen sounds samey if that the case you are not playing it loud enough it demands max volume to get the most out of the rather bland mix the drums and bass are so far back in the mix they could be playing in a different room ok slight exaggeration. Theres gorgeous melodies and great crahing guitars though a bit more double layering on vocals would definately add something more like on the first track. Ok this is Emo all about killing yourself and how things are sooo bad if that grates you please get another CD it actually is a quite upbeat and sunny sounding music. every song is quality not a dull moment it's like a guilty pleasure something you wack on full blast to bathe yourself in the riffs. These guys if they release a record on Sony or someone will be huge but dont hold it against them it's inevitable. If you like Emo go buy go buy fast yours mates won't be listening to this til you play it to them but remember when they are big you can slate them off saying you heard them first and these two first albums were the best..............

Very good for no major label, but some things you should know,

I'm a huge fan of punk, pop punk, rock, all those things and was real excited to get this cd after I heard day one and counting....which I will say that that song is amazing....but this cd got a little repetitious to me. I'm not one of those people who wants to purposely disagree cause Im "different" or cause I dont like pop/popular music, I just want to let you know if you would be interested in this. CDNOW says they are like Mae, Fallout Boy, etc. but I'd say they are more the instrumentation and a little bit the lyrics of Matchbook Romance then the others. This cd is emotional punk music, and they sound distrought and all, but I just got tired of the cd after a while because many of the songs sound the same. The cd opens very well with track 1, track 2 is the best song and what I think should be a single, and other worthy, somewhat different sounding tracks are 5 and 9. This is a pretty good cd, definitely enjoyable to listen to if you enjoy punk or music about some hardcore heartache (like slitting wrists), which is cool if you really feel that. I feel like this is more the bands "get in the door" cd, and if a producer is smart he'll hear them and sign them. The record has talent, I wish it just had an occasional different harmony and feel.
