wood blaster,
This review is from: Wood Blaster Log Splitter Wedge
Very pleased with this product. I had some Ash logs that I tried splitting with an ax and also a steel wedge. Every time I hit the log with the ax it got stuck in the log and took 10 minutes of struggle to remove it. The wood was so hard I could never get the wedge to even start into the wood.
The wood blaster on the other hand started into the wood with the first hit of the ax because of the sharp point. It only took 4 or 5 good hits with a sledge hammer to go through and split the log. It was almost fun splitting the logs after that. I would highly recommend this produst. I just used it one time so I don't know how well it will hold up over the long haul?

I originally bought a wood grenade and they are also great but I broke the tips off of 2 of them. This tool has a little more 'beef' at the tip and I do not think it will break. The difference between this and a wedge is 'night and day'. I highly recommend this tool if you have any major splitting to do. I have 2 of thiese and a big wedge to get them when they occasssionally get stuck.

Log splitter supreme,

This wedge has a wholly new design. It exerts force in all directions, not just to right and left. It therefore takes advantage of all log weaknesses, often producing totally unexpected splits.

Not 20 minutes ago my Wood Blaster from Northern Tool arrived via UPS. I went out to the back and got my sledge and 4 pieces of whole tree (round), about 10 inches, green and with knots - these were the leftovers after I had split the rest. I was waiting till the end of the summer and maybe having to rent a log splitter.
Not! I planted the Wood Blaster with a slight tap of the sledge and it took me about 10 minutes to split all four pieces. The most difficult one was a deformed one with a knot and it took me three swings. A great tool!

I bought this for my husband. He had just bought a wedge from our local hardware store (for more money than this one) only a month ago, and already it's dull and the tip was broken. I bought him this one based on it's reviews. WOW what a HUGE difference! This wedge whent through logs he would have never have attempted before and with ease. He has been so pleased. It really is a great product.

For two years these ugly, twisty chunks of redwood (The Beasts) from a tree in a neighbor's yard have been weathering in the yard. My husband ("Woodchop School") can't even get a wedge into them. When we got the Woodblaster, I took the first try at one of the Beasts. I'm a small woman. After only a few hits, the 'Blaster tore the Beast apart. This one is KILLER!

Rather indestructible, I used these for splitting a few logs and also taking out some rotting stumps. With a sledgehammer and this splitter wedge, you can reliably split logs up to 16". Be careful with too much of this, it takes a toll on your back. I'd invest in or borrow from the neighbor a hydraulic splitter for really big jobs.

As a young kid I split 2-3 cords of wood every fall for winter in Tahoe. Where was a wedge like this back then? Well worth the $10, it makes splitting wood so much easier.

Have a pile of very tough oak and cherry that's been a bear to split using traditional wedge, splitting maul and sledge. Could get it done but so time consuming I was about to rent a power splitter, but based on the reviews decided to give the Wood Blaster a try first. Glad I did. Once in awhile it will get stuck so you'll need to have a wedge or splitting maul available, but it's certainly as advertised and well worth the cost. Get two.

I guess the wood we have is pretty hard. This wedge does split it, but the end of the wedge started to get blunt after a few logs.
