My husband bought one of these brooms, because my good old German horse hair broom handle broke and the replacement broom stick was out of stock at the time.

First broom arrived, and it was all made of plastic, including the supposedly horse hair. My husband contacted the seller, who said they must have shipped the wrong broom, they will send replacement.
New Broom arrives. This one is made of wood, but the hair is still mainly made of plastic, there might be 1% or even less horse hair in that broom, also the broom stick they send does not fit that broom, neither does the one from the first broom.
My husband contacts them again and this is what they said:'I contacted the manufacturer and they told me that it can not be 100% horse hair in order you should be able to sweep with this broom. This is definitely a horse hair broom.'

They are kidding, right?
Horse Hair brooms first of all have been used for many hundred years, they sweep perfectly, in my German opinion they sweep better then those Nylon/plastic brooms because the dirt actually sticks to the hair instead flying through the house. Then it is either horse hair or it is not, you don't get to call it either or. A cat is a cat and a dog is a dog.

This is false advertising and I think it should be disclosed that this is not horse hair. This is cheating the customer and that is the truth.

This broom is not a 100% horsehair broom! It is mainly plastic. I know the difference because my mother always used 100% German horsehair brooms. I will rate it a 2 because of the false advertising.

Broom is not 100% horse hair & I'm afraid it may scratch my new wood floors. Broom handle would not insert into broom

I've spent years and more $$$ than I care to think of trying to find the perfect broom for wood floors, and I'm pleased to report this one is it! I like a very soft bristle broom, and the corn brooms are just too stiff for me. The southeast Asian brooms are soft enough, but they fall apart in what seems to be a matter of days -- what is the point of a broom where you have to continually sweep up the broom straw? The wood is handsome, but I did deduct a star because of the initial challenge presented by installing the head on the handle. They appear not to fit together, but persevere (push the handle REALLY HARD into the head) and you will meet with success.

I love this broom. The bristles are soft enough to pick up lint, and firm enough to push together all other floor debris. I am using it on tile and hardwood floors.

This broom is made of nylon bristles, not horse hair. It seems to do a very good job of sweeping, but I am returning it and will purchase a real horse hair broom elsewhere. I MIGHT have considered keeping it, but it has the word "Superior" printed in big, bold, ugly letters on the top of the brush, ugh!

I have been looking for years for a replacement soft broom to clean my wood floors (and tiles). I have an Italian one that is 25 years old that I purchased when I lived in Europe. I didn't think I would find one that had the soft but durable bristles. My bristles are horse hair and soft. Does a great job of picking up EVERYTHING on the floor that even the vac misses. I have only had it for a while but have not noticed the shedding others have mentioned. I wish the head was a bit wider but it still is great. The handle, my goodness, it is a challenge. But I have patience...and I won. It is a great broom for the price. I may buy an additional one. This was made in China.
