Good quality - drawers are too narrow for some pastels,

The quality of the drawers is excellent. It has padding which I was not expecting. I think that is a bonus.The only issue I see is that if you have thick soft pastels such as Terry Ludwig or Sennelier (which I do) they barely fit. You have to accomodate them a certain way so that they dont rub off inside the box when you open it or close it.

I use this for my Prismacolor colored pencils, and it works great! I can organize my colored pencils by color families, and also store my erasers, colorless blenders, and pencil lengtheners. It's very useful and convenient.It strikes me that this would also be a useful way to store and organize lots of small art and craft supplies. There are many items that you may not want banged or jumbled together for whatever reason, but DO want easily accessible. Exacto knives, artist crayons, tortillons, calligraphy pens, yarn needles and threaders... and yes even pastel sticks if you want! And if you want even MORE storage Alvin also makes a THREE drawer model. 3 Drawer Wood Pastel Storage Box 15-3/4 x 9-5/8 x 3-1/8 inches I only wish they made a matching unit with a deeper drawer, so I could store my Prismacolor sharpener, too! |
