5.0 out of 5 stars A great album, June 29, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Wood & Stone (Audio CD)
I have listened to this album 15-20 times now and can highly recommend it. Here on their third album Chris and Meredith have taken a giant step forward. The guitar work is splendid and their voices blend perfectly. The mood of the CD varies from the upbeat "Wood and Stone" and "Children" to the reflective "Hometown" and "The Letter". One would do well to check out this album as well as their first two albums "Ithaca" and "Shadyside".

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent blend of world and folk music, December 29, 2001

If you like the harmonies of the Indigo Girls and the rhythms of Santana and Rusted Root, you will enjoy this CD. The title track starts acapella, showcasing the unique blend of the twin sisters vocals. Then, the drums and guitar kick in, and from then on the album just moves. Each song is well produced, with unique sounds and approaches to the songs. I highly recommend this CD. Buy it!

5.0 out of 5 stars Beautiful, August 14, 2004
This review is from: Wood & Stone (Audio CD)
I love these guys...well, girls. They both have strong voices that blend extremely well, are talented songwriters, and each album evolves into a more complex and interesting sound. This album focuses most I think on the voices and their harmonization and is probably their best. Their first albums Ithaca and Shadyside are both good, but have technical problems that make it not as pleasant a listen as Wood and Stone. I also recommend their new one "Clearwater" which also has polished vocals along with some new instruments, guest artists, and a more rocky feel. These women are talented and I look forward to more from them in the future. Hey, they also give a great live show so if you have a chance to catch one I'd recommend it.
