4.0 out of 5 stars terrific resource
Excellent resource. Sorta wish it would include more state/county/city campgrounds, but I suppose it is almost too big to handle already and more listings would make it impossible to handle. Really like the DVD and think it will be great while we're traveling and can use the laptop.

3.0 out of 5 stars Great for RV resort campers
Bought this book as a new RV owner hoping it will guide us to some great places. We don't like RV Resort style camping or what I refer to as 'parking lot camping'. I like to have space between me and the next person; I like to have lots of trees and ground cover. That kind of camping, campgrounds, are found in State Parks, National Forests, BLM lands, etc. which this...

Bought this book as a new RV owner hoping it will guide us to some great places. We don't like RV Resort style camping or what I refer to as 'parking lot camping'. I like to have space between me and the next person; I like to have lots of trees and ground cover. That kind of camping, campgrounds, are found in State Parks, National Forests, BLM lands, etc. which this book doesn't cover. If we were planning a cross country trip and we wanted to stay just overnight in places with hook ups, cable tv, services, etc. then this would be a great guide. If you are like us and prefer a more primitive, rustic camping experience this is not the book for you.

The reviewer of January 17 is wrong about the DVD. There isn't a DVD in the 2010 Western America Campground Directory. Just a printed version. It is, still, just a mediocre CAMPGROUND book. Full of good RV park information but, an RV park is not a campground. Woodall's seems to have forgotten the CAMPGROUND folks. The internet is still, in my opinion, the best place to go find CAMPGROUND information.
