The patterns are easy to use, and the variety make it easy to choose something easy or more difficult to work on. I have already carved the little short man in a hat and enjoyed every step. He looks pretty good for someone carving for fun and enjoyment.Fly with the Mourning Dove

Well photographed, good clear pictorial step-by-step instructions. Good for the beginner carver as practice/development exercises - but represents the "same ol" static figures making fun of "hill-billies"
