5.0 out of 5 stars Great product
My husband uses the knife rack to hang his carving tools. It works perfectly. The rack arrived very quickly, is exactly as described, was (in our opinion) very reasonably priced, and is exactly what he wanted. He highly recommends it.

2.0 out of 5 stars Does Not Hold Knives Well. Big Disappointment.
While the rack is exactly as described and looks good, don't buy it to hold your expensive knives. I attached the rack to the side of a heavy duty, very expensive butcher block. I had my knife handles pointing straight up. The block sits against a wall. Each knife has a slightly different steel content and some "stick" less than others. All three of my $100-140 chef...

All three of my $100-140 chef knives have fallen to the floor as I barely brushed them reaching for other knives on the rack. Two now have bent tips and the third knife's tip was broken off as it hit the floor. Each fall chipped my travertine floor. Good knives are hefty and if the handle is not straight up or down (depending on how you are using the rack) they will not stay on the rack as the knife's center of gravity is off and the knife will fall off the rack. This might not be an issue if the rack is mounted on a wall, but in my situation it would have been ideal if the handles could have been slightly slanted toward me for easier grasping. No such luck. I've put all the knives back in the knife block. And will pay a pretty penny to get my floor repaired.

This isn't the most beautiful kitchen item I've ever seen, but it works. It's a little heavy, but durable and solid. Works perfectly- it holds knives up. I'd recommend it if you need a super long knife strip.

This rack has a very strong magnet. I'm using it in my sewing room to hold magnetic spice containers to store buttons, thimbles, ribbons, etc.

4.0 out of 5 stars Perfect length for a working kitchen, July 9, 2011

This is a great rack for all my knives. It's nice that I can grab whatever I need without digging thru drawers. The added length is a great benefit for spacing the knives. I was at first hesitant about the product when I saw the unfinished wood; however- the benefit of staining this piece to match my kitchen cabinets was a tremendous bonus. (be certain to sand the wood first so your stain will absorb evenly into the wood) Enjoy!

Excellent product. Nicely finished hardwood, with perfectly aligned magnet bars of just the right strength. Knives are held securely, but easily removed.

I have two of these: One is 24 inches, the other is 18. I would will not leave these in the house when I sell it. I will take them with me.

The magnets are incredibly strong. They hold my heaviest knives, kitchen shears, my watch band when I'm doing dishes, the ladles and long steel stirring spoons. I have never had anything fall off even if a cat brushes against it, even when I've accidentally hit the handles, and even during an earthquake.

They are easy to install and do not need to be screwed into a support beam. I installed both of mine without a drill and without a lot of fuss. The hardest thing was making sure each was level.

The only downside: these will leave a hole in the wall that you will have to patch when you take them down to move with you to a new house. And you'll definitely want to do that!

This is a very nice looking wooden magnet kitchen knife holder, we live in a log house and decided to put it on one of the log walls by the cutting board and it looks amazing, so functional and a counter space saver!!!
