Product Description

Color: Red

You are looking at a magic wooden clock. It looks like a plain wood block when it is not powered on. However, when you turn it on, the magic appears. The hidden LED lights will be shown through the front of the block telling you the time, date and temperature.

I don't like the leaning colon separating hours and minutes.

Let's be honest though, it's probably a guy because women are generally much too smart to do such a poor job.

This clock was exactly as described and nicely matched my wooden black colored tv console and components.

I received this as a christmas gift, to be used as a bedside alarm clock. The unit looks great, no doubt about it. However, using it daily is a chore. Want to change the alarm time? That takes a MINIMUM of 17 button pushes (not counting the button pushes needed to actually increment the minutes and hours) because in order to change 1 alarm time you must go through the ENTIRE setup process - set the date, time, temperature format, and each of the 3 alarm times. EVERY SINGLE TIME! If you wake early and want to turn off the alarm so you don't wake your partner you have 2 choices - either go through the ENTIRE setup process again to disable one of the alarms, or you have the option of turning the sound off for ALL the alarms (no choice, sorry) by just hitting one button, that unfortunately makes a loud beep and wakes her anyway. This wasn't in the instructions by the way, I found that by experimenting.

There are 5 buttons in a row on the back of the unit, if you reach for it in the dark to shut it up and accidentally hit the RESET button you're screwed, everything reverts to factory settings. No warning.

Operating instructions are written in broken English, and not everything makes sense (see others comments for examples of confusion), you'll need to experiment.

My unit has an additional problem that I suspect is just faulty wiring but I'll mention it anyway. During the first night of use I noticed sometimes the display would turn off, which was actually kind of nice since the LED's are somewhat bright, and a simple tap on the top of the unit woke it back up. But the instructions never mentioned this handy feature. The problem is that it turns itself on and off randomly.

Overall this is a very trick clock. It runs on either Battery or a wall-wart. The display is easy to read even in bright sunlight. The clock scrolls between the time, the temperature, and the date: I've found no way to disable this to display only the time. From a short distance, the stick on vinyl veneer looks like real wood. Up close, one can tell it is vinyl. On warm days, be wary and the vinyl veneer can be easily peeled off (so keep it away from prying hands). The corners also crush very easily (so again, keep it away from prying hands).

If you can setup the clock well out of reach, then this is one cool item. If the clock will be handled, you may want to pony up the cash for a real wood veneer item (norwegiancreations, Kouji Iwasaki, takumi, etc).

Cheers

I like the large bright green LED display.

I like the two display settings: time only or rotating time, date, temperature.

I like the three alarms.

I like the dark embossed fake wood grain wrap.

I don't like the leaning colon separating hours and minutes.

Due to the oblique view of the product in the image provided, it is hard to notice that the colon isn't aligned properly. It leans more than the slant of the digits. It looks goofy. Pulsing away crookedly every second.

How could a designer/manufacturer get a clock so right, and yet mess that up?

I'm keeping it, but that flaw is a downer. Every time I look at it.

I don't like the price now.

Simulated walnut box containing accurate clock which displays date, time, and ambient temperature
in repeated sequences. The green LED display is very attractive, although there appears to be
no way to dim the display during nighttime hours, which can be a nuisance. Instructions for setup
appear to be written by non-English speakers, and are quite confusing, as are the controls on
the back of the box. These inconveniences almost negate the advantages of this attractive clock.

One of the worst items I have ever bought in my life. Every, single, time, you, push, a, button, IT MAKES AN EXTREMELY LOUD BEEPING NOISE. Can't be shut off. I imagine the people who designed and made this thing work in an extremely noisy factory and it did not occur to them what an extraordinarily annoying product this is to people whose eardrums are still intact. (More likely: their only goal was to make something that looks nice in a picture online and they didn't care one bit about anything else.) Compounding the problem, it takes forever to switch any settings and if you mess up you have to start from the beginning, so you're in for a long series of these annoyingly loud beeps whenever you set the alarm.

My wife got me this as a gift and we have lived with it for nearly 6 months now. I say "lived" because I received another clock in the mail today and will cease use of this terrible clock immediately.

Pros:
-The clock does look nice and it's pretty cool to have a wooden block "suddenly" display the time.
-It's the right size.

Cons: (here we go)
-Every time you push a button, you get this terribly annoying BEEP sound. Not good if you live in a home with two children under the age of two who wake up from naps/sleep at the slightest noise.
-When the alarm sounds, you must press the "on/off" button on the back which is right next to the "reset" button. This results in accidentally pressing the "reset" button and wiping your clock's memory clean. Annoying.
-The dreaded "reset" button. This button has added unneeded stress to my marriage. You see, sometimes my wife will go to bed before I do. There is no problem with this except when I am ready to go to bed I may suddenly realize that the ugly numbers are glaring at me, lighting up the whole room. So, I will press the "on/off" button to turn them off... at least, I will attempt to. Instead, I will accidentally press the "reset" button and the whole clock resets... time, date, 24/12hr setting, alarms, alarm times... All of these must be set in succession and each time you press a button you get this obnoxious beeping noise. Of course, this irritates my wife by waking her up in the middle of the night and gives me the added stress of trying to reset the clock in secret. If I could, I would sneak downstairs, wrap a huge cardboard box in about 50 thick blankets and reset the clock from inside the box because, let's face it, that's what it takes to mute this stupid thing.
