This review is from: Wooden Boats to Build & Use (Maritime) (Paperback)
I enjoyed John Gardner's Classic Boat Building book so much I ordered this one. It starts where Classic left off with more boats. A couple are repeats like the Gunning Dory but he gives more info and offers a 16ft version. The cabin cruisers are interesting. I especially enjoyed reading about the 27ft 4 oared Gig, a very unusual boat which can be rowed up to 10 mph and still handle some chop. It's a good read but it's hard to beat his Classic book. John Gardner is Father of the wooden boat revival and his opinion is highly respected.
