5.0 out of 5 stars Toddler Confidence-Booster
I searched high and low for high-quality wooden puzzles and found them with Lights, Camera, Interaction. My 21-month old son loves this puzzle and is so proud to show me where the dogs, ducks, or farmer is "hiding". The pictures are well-drawn and colorful, and the wood is sturdy. I believe this will be one of those toys that my son will be able to share...

3.0 out of 5 stars Easy for over Two
It seems durable and sturdy. However it is simple to solve for
a child who is over 2 years. It probably has good educational
value but once the child solves the puzzle he loses interest very soon.

This puzzle is well worth buying as it is quite difficult for the Under 2's but not impossible. Some of the shapes are difficult to fit as the top and bottom of the pictures look similar, such as the red barn door and the green bushes. However, this is actually a good thing as it keeps my 21 month old daughter coming back to it over and over again. She has now worked it out and gets great satisfaction when she completes it. A great first puzzle to buy as it has the pictures underneath, if you're looking for a toy/gift that will be used over and over again.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best Puzzle We Own, September 21, 2004
This review is from: Wooden Farm Hide & Seek 9-piece Peg Puzzle (Toy)
My son got this for his 1st birthday. He took right to it, seeing all the animals he was learning about. Now, he is 3 1/2 and loves it all the same, except he knows how to put the pieces in all by himself. Sometimes to keep it exciting we race puzzles to see who can finish their's first. Even through all the use, this puzzle looks brand new! It's Great!

This is a great, challenging puzzle for your little one. It's added bonus is that there are animals hidden under the pieces, making it quite exciting to pick up the pieces. I bought this for my 1 1/2 year old, and he had a hard time with it at first, but it's helped him with the hand/eye coordination and with spacial relationships. I like this!

This 9-piece puzzle was the most popular first puzzle with both my son and daughter, starting around 18 months. First, it's a high-quality puzzle. The art is detailed and realistic (while still being appealing to young children), and the construction is durable (i.e., children can step on it and not break or bend it). Second, the pegs make it accessible to younger children and allow them to practice their pincher skills. The pegs reduce frustration because it's easier to hold on to them and rotate them into the proper direction. Third, and most importantly, the puzzle has animal pictures behind each of the puzzle pieces. The animal pictures made the puzzle fun when the kids first used it; they would get excited to reveal the animal and quickly developed favorites. Later, the animals turned the puzzle into a memory game as we asked "where's the horse". Then, we increased the complexity by asking more indirect questions like "where's the animal that has puppies". I highly recommend this puzzle as a first puzzle for any child between the ages of 1 and 2.

I bought this and four other peg puzzles for our son and they were a great success. Our 10 month old loves playing with them. He can pull out the pieces, but cannot put them back yet. He likes the colours and imagery. They do wear a bit on the edges, especially when put in the mouth. But other than that we love them.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Toy for Kids, September 3, 2005
This review is from: Wooden Farm Hide & Seek 9-piece Peg Puzzle (Toy)
My 2 year old loves the puzzle and the colors. It's perfect for her little hands to grab the pieces by the pegs and she STILL likes to find what's underneath the pieces. It's a great buy.

5.0 out of 5 stars Puzzle Mania, August 21, 2003

I bought this and the geometric shapes puzzles for my daughter when she was 14 months old. Although she figured out how to complete them after a couple of weeks, she still finds amusement in dumping out the pieces and replacing them, now at 17 months. It is great stimulation for mathematical part of her brain and puzzles are now her favorite toys. The realistic pictures of the farm animals are educational and the pieces are odd shaped and challenging. I would suggest lowering the recommended age because I saw how quickly my 14-month-old enjoyed it.

I bought this for my son (who loves puzzles) when he was three and it was one of his favorites because he liked to see what was "hidden" behind the haystack, barn door, etc. One of the pieces--the barndoor I think--is a tad tricky because it's not a perfect square, but that's the only negative thing I can say.
