I bought a couple of these for my son and his friend because they were inexpensive, a unique design (for wooden swords), nice looking, and I didn't have time to make something similar myself. Unfortunately you get what you pay for. The pommel fell off one of them during shipment. Nothing that a little glue couldn't fix but disappointing nevertheless. They are made from decent hardwood and the routing is quite nice but the "blades" are quite thin, fragile, and (shockingly) rather sharp. For small children this is an accident waiting to happen. For older kids like my son it means that they can't do much with it since it is so delicate. Nice to look at but that's about it. Better glue and a bit thicker design would be much more useful. Given how they are built, however, I'm really not sure what they are designed for. They are not quite nice enough to display yet are too flimsy to use.

This prop was purchased with the idea for use in forms training. Not intended for duels, or fencing, so I knew this sword was just a prop when purchased. Out of the box, the pommel fell off and the tip was broken. I understand this is a 10 dollar prop, but when I receive damaged items that I'm spending my money on I expect to at least get the item in the condition it was shown. Now aside from that little tick off. The wood this item is made of is extremely light and the blade is actually fairly thin and flimsy. So I would not suggest anything be done with this accept for solo practice or just decoration. There are much better beater wooden gladii sold by kultofathena.com that are about 20 dollars more expensive but are meant for actual partner training and actual use.
I'm actually really upset by the quality of this sword being flimsy and damaged before any handling, the tip is rather pointed so I wouldn't suggest it as a toy for children. Buy it at your own risk, but I felt like I just threw my money away.

I rate the Roman Gladiator Wooden Stage Sword Prop 5 stars because that's what it is and works perfectly as a prop. I wouldn't advise you to do actual sword fighting with them because the wood does split when hit with a good amount of force. Not durable for actual combat, however, this product works perfectly as a stage prop. Perfect for any type of scene. Very realistic in appearance and weight. Very good craftsmanship. I am very happy with this product.

This sword was allot flimseyer and roupher then the picture shows, its only good for display and it took some sanding and staining for it to be presentible as a retiment gift.

I'm over all impressed with this item. Its got a good deal of weight to it making it seem real. and the craftsmanship is pretty good. I love this thing. the way it swings just feels natural. my only gripe is that the wood on the one i got has streaks going down the blade. and has a few nicks on the wide part of the blade. keep in mind i just received this not even ten minutes ago. all in all i love this wooden sword. it'll go great with costumes. and just plain fun to swing around. i just wish it looked cleaner like the one advertised here. but i guess that's why paint was invented yeah? good item i recommend it.

The sword was everything it was billed to be and was received before the date I was told it would arrive. I am extremely pleased and will purchase from them again.

the sword is in great condition, it is very strong, overall i am very pleased with the item, i recomend it

Got this for daughters viking halloween costume. Could not take it to school, may be considered a weapon! I like it though use it under adult supervision or someone will lose an eye!
