Perhaps Jubers best all solo all original recording ever!,

I am shocked that I'm the first to review this CD I've been playing like crazy for the last couple of months. If you are a fan of guitar then you must know Laurence Juber and this album is much like his Guitarist album of several years back in that it is all solo guitar and all original material. The style of each song varies so boredom is never a factor and ragtime tunes are mixed with straight ahead ballads and others which defy classification! The bonus track is an improvised blues from a recent Live show which I understand will be available on DVD.
As much as I like Jubers arrangements of popular songs and his work with ensembles its this solo guitar niche that he shines even brighter in my opinion and not just as a player. Juber truly writes instrumentals that are songs...with themes and melodies and not just guitar riffs like so many in that genre. The sound of this recording is as he says in his interview video on Amazon.com ...like you are in the room with the guitarist and I can't imagine a better one to share a room with!
