Item arrived and was as described, so it met our expectations. After setting it up, however, three minor design changes were obviously needed for a better product.

1. Mail slots should be deeper; most mail comes as business sized envelopes. Business envelopes now extend well beyond the face of the organizer and obscure the slot labels. Only personal note sized mail fits entirely in the slots. Ideally, the mail should extend no more than 0.5 inches beyond the face.

2. Models should be offered placing slot label holders either above or below the slots. As we've placed the organizer on a table, we're looking slightly down on it and business sized mail obscures the slot labels. Holders below the slots may be appropriate for a wall mount where the slots may be at eye level or slightly above.

3. Key hooks on sides are a nice feature, but should be all on one side, thus freeing up the other side for a larger pocket to accommodate oversized (8.5 X 11) mail.

Also, we're not sure the pencil/scissors bins on the right side are all that useful. We certainly don't need a writing implement at the place where we sort our mail, but having a letter opener here would be useful.

Overall opinion - a good product, but somewhat limited by design flaws that could be easily corrected.

Finishing is spotty at best, but at the price, it is a nice buy. I used a stain-marker to cover the defects and I actually bought another for my front desk area in my office. We use them for inter-office mail!! Oh, and I love the fact that is is lightweight, but the wood is solid!

Bought this to help organize the kitchen bar, which has become the catch all for mail, homework, etc. The counstruction is quality and the price was a good fit for what you get. Couldn't be happier!
