Entrapment, jealousy, two-facedness - no, it's not the plot of a new soap opera, it's a beautifully rendered wooden version of this exciting strategy game which takes its name from the themes in Shakespeare's acclaimed tragedy. Win the game by capturing your opponent's pegs, and flipping them to your color. Originally invented as "Reversi" by two Englishmen who each accused the other of stealing the idea, even Othello's inception was touched with the themes present in the strategy of the game itself. It remains popular - although not as controversial - today, especially in Japan where the modern rule set was developed. The Japanese continue to dominate the World Othello Championships, so if you plan on competing you'll have a lot of practice to do. Remember, Othello is easy to learn... easy to play...Not so easy to win...so start now!
This set comes complete with a board, a lid and the game pieces.
