Book Description

Leadership isn’t about winning; it’s about helping people succeed in life. That’s the message of John Wooden, college basketball’s greatest coach, whose UCLA Bruins piled up a record that may never be surpassed. Wooden saw himself primarily as a teacher, argues this brief eBook, and his sense of values and priorities was his bedrock. Leaders everywhere can improve their game by following his example.

5.0 out of 5 stars Interesting Read January 23, 2011
By RKirsch
This is a great little introductory read for people who are new to reading sports books. I look forward to sharing it with my young son during basketball season. If he becomes a Wooden fan, we'll move from this one to other more detailed books.

1.0 out of 5 stars Interesting but Simple November 6, 2010
Verified Purchase
There is a reason this eBook is free. Although it tells the compelling story of Coach Wooden's life, philosophies, and accomplishments, it is very simply written. The writing is basic, as if the book were written for children. Still, it is an interesting and quick read.

1.0 out of 5 stars not much there March 9, 2012

This book is more like a long magazine article or Wikipedia entry. There isn't much insight and it's kind of repetitive.

1.0 out of 5 stars Shame December 18, 2010
Verified Purchase
This is a shameful little book that demeans it's subject. The information within can be gleaned from the reviews of all the other relevant titles and add nothing to the record. The prospective purchaser should Put the purchase price ($3.44 in my ripped off case) towards the purchase of almost any other book about or by John Wooden. 0 stars!
