For the price, I really don't think you can go wrong. Composting isn't magic. A black bin in the sun will break down vegetable matter, I have no doubt this will work.

Assembly is somewhat lengthy, since you start on one side, and work your way around putting seven screws in each section, which is a lot of screws. The first couple panels are a balancing act making everything align.

If you follow the pictures as drawn, it goes together fine. They even threw in a few extra screws and nuts, so I didn't have to run to the hardware store for more (which i've had to do so many times with kits).

Shipping was quite fast.

The good points
-This might be the least expensive (or most correctly priced) tumbling composter out there (why do these things cost so much? They're injection molded plastic.)
-Quality is good. All the parts fit snug without gaps, misaligned holes, or flash/burrs which effect fitments.
-The poles for the base are sturdy
-The plastic is thick enough it should stand up to time in the direct sun
-All you need is a screwdriver and a wrench or pliers (for the nylon lock nuts in the base)

The negative points (or things which make it cost less)
-It would be great if it had a catch pan for compost drippings
-The mounting of the horizontal pole to the base is just one screw through both sections. It would be nice to see it slot into something welded on for more stability
-I think a pole between both long sides of the base, to keep it from spreading with weight, would be a good addition. I may run a tension wire if the base spreads.

Really like tumbler. Worked great and I use it everyday for my scraps. Now that it is full I can not move it. Wish I would have thought of that before placing. All the screws, and there are a lot of them, have rusted but still holding. Really hope they do not break off. Non rusting screws would be better since this item is out in the weather.

I am really new to composting though my husband used to do it many years back. He was not at all happy about using a tumbler as he has always used a 3 box layout side by side and turning it manually. Well as we have gotten older he didn't want to compost because he didn't want to have to do the turning over anymore. Fair enough, so after reading a lot of reviews and doing some research I went and purchased this model without him knowing. We (both) couldn't be happier. We don't add the grass clippings from our property because it just wouldn't fit (large rural property) but it is big enough for all our other garden scraps and left over food scraps. I've been turning it every couple of days for the past 6 weeks and it's looking good. Will have to wait a little longer as we only just stopped adding things within the last week and started filling the second container. It is SO easy to use, we love this tumbler.

This composter is perfect. It was a bit fiddly/tedious putting it together and there were about 10 screws missing but we picked some up from Lowe's. My husband spent about 2 hours assembling it for me. He sprayed some DW-40 on the screws first since some reviewers had mentioned they rusted. The composter has two compartments inside it even though it doesn't look separate from the outside. For those who commented that the sliding door had to be cut as it interfered with moving the tumbler round, this is part of the design. The instruction booklet explains that when emptying the composter the sliding door will be facing the floor for the compost to fall out onto a tarp placed underneath it. The door is supposed to catch between the legs when emptying the finished compost to prevent the drum from rolling back. In the normal process of spinning it, the door does not interfere with movement as it remains shut. There was a short learning curve as I found the correct balance between green and brown materials to avoid a dreadful smell. I also found it is best to place it where it can sit in the sunshine even if the day is cool - this raises the temperature and helps the materials to break down. I have included lint from the dryer, shredded paper, as well as kitchen scraps and the first batch is nearly done after about four weeks. Our yard is quite shaded and our open compost pile took 18 months to start to produce useable material. This has greatly sped up the process and I think it is very well worth the price paid and the time spent to assemble it.

9/26/2012 update: some potentially helpful info re. the screws - I didn't realize until my husband pointed it out to me: the screws are self-tightening.

I have owned this composter for 7 months and am only just getting my first batch of compost. Admittedly, Nov. Dec. Jan. and Feb. may have been too cold to make much progress. Like all composters, it takes longer than you would think to get the finished product. That being said, I like this composter because I never turned my other compost piles and this product makes turning much easier. It would be very helpful if the manufacturer would put some kind of handles or grab bars around the barrel to make the turning easier. It gets harder to turn the more stuff you put in it. I recommend that if you have this composter close to your house, that you put a plastic pan underneath to catch the drippings because they could stain cement if you have included leaves in your mix. If you have the composter on grass, this wouldn't be necessary. I like that it has two compartments. I filled both up right away and then when they had shrunk by half, I moved the partially cooked compost to one compartment and started again with the second compartment. I may buy a second one of these composters because we have a lot of vegetable scraps and though they hold a lot, I need more capacity.

I am adding this comment after owning the composter for 10 months. I have completed 3 compartments of compost and am generally pleased with the results. When you tilt the bin to dump out your finished compost, the plastic sliding door gets in the way (it hits the bars holding the bin). You need to completely take off the door and then seal the unfinished batch of compost with a piece of cardboard so you can dump out the finished compost. A design flaw, but the work-around is easy.

I have owned the composter for about 2 years now.
