5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent illustrations!, October 23, 2007
This review is from: Woodlands Indians Coloring Book (Dover History Coloring Book) (Paperback)
These are very detailed drawings of different eastern tribes of the Americas. Tribes include Algonquian, Ottawa, Miami, Huron, Illinois, Kickapoo, Chipewa, Iroquois and others. There are 46 pages of drawings that show various aspects of Native American life from games to hunting and including a burial scene and native dress that spans four centuries- showing how the style of dress changed with the entrance of the Europeans. Each page has a short paragraph describing the life and culture of that particular tribe. My six year old loves these, but they would be great for anyone who loves to color. The detail would be excellent for 10 to 12 year olds who are learning about Native Americans and they would get more out of the different styles of dress than my son does. Wonderful as a learning tool to go along with a unit on Native Americans, or just because someone is interested.
