4.0 out of 5 stars Perfect Bat House
This is the perfect bat house. Exactly as described and very simple to install on a tree or a barn side. The problem is trying to get bats to find the house to roost. It would great if the instructions provided a method to "bait" the house, although I understand this is not how bat houses work; so perhaps that is a moot point. 1.0 out of 5 stars Poorly constructed and not worth the price
I got this bat shelter for my Mom for Christmas because it looks like something she would really enjoy. I got the package today and I am completely disappointed. It could have been made in a middle school's wood shop class. The wood is cheap and was splitting at the edges as soon as I took it out of the box. The top looks a little lopsided-like the panel measurements were...

This is the perfect bat house. Exactly as described and very simple to install on a tree or a barn side. The problem is trying to get bats to find the house to roost. It would great if the instructions provided a method to "bait" the house, although I understand this is not how bat houses work; so perhaps that is a moot point. I have only had the house up for about a month with no bats yet; but I have seen bats nearby so perhaps more time is needed. The instructions suggest waiting up to a year.

Made like a piece of furniture. Nothing cheap or shoddy in the construction. I hope the bats enjoy their new home and all my Florida insects. Comes with location instructions and fasteners. Worth the price.

Bit pricey for what it is but is a decent product and constructed of cedar. Received with a split board on top but that's the nature of cedar. Lots of bat action in the area but none have entered yet. Has only been up for a short while.

5.0 out of 5 stars Nice bat house, but the squirrels like it, January 2, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Woodlink NABAT Audubon Bat Shelter (Lawn & Patio)
This is our second bat house. We are trying to get the bats who live in our shutters to move. Unfortunately, our bats come back to the shutters, ignoring the 2 bat houses, which we have put at the recommended heights and in the recommended places. Igor, Vladimir, and the rest of the gang have returned to the shutters for 3 years now despite our blocking the entrance with mesh. We don't have the heart to evict them.

Anyhow, the bat house is home to a gang of rowdy squirrels, who like to sit on the house and gnaw on the wood.

I guess we'll have to look for a neon "vacancy" sign for the bat house . If anyone has any ideas how to train our bats, please let us know.

4.0 out of 5 stars Nice house,, April 15, 2011

This is a good quality house and nice looking. I think the space may be too large for our bats here in California, however, so I'm going to add a divider before hanging. I suggest researching what your bats like before deciding to purchase.

The bat house looks great, but so far the hopefull tenants haven't arrived. They say that it can take up to two years for that to happen so I hope that my bat house will endure our New England weather.

Seems pretty well built. Didn't come with any instructions on where or when to hang the box. Guess I will look it up on the net.

I don't understand why they didn't do 3 sections across the front. That would fit more bats.

There are no problems with this product. Our problems are with the crazy bats that we are try ing to get to live there. The squirrels have decided to use the bat house to chew on.

1.0 out of 5 stars Poorly constructed and not worth the price, December 14, 2011

I got this bat shelter for my Mom for Christmas because it looks like something she would really enjoy. I got the package today and I am completely disappointed. It could have been made in a middle school's wood shop class. The wood is cheap and was splitting at the edges as soon as I took it out of the box. The top looks a little lopsided-like the panel measurements were slightly off but they went ahead and screwed them together anyway. I'm even disappointed in (what used to be) the biggest selling point for me, which was the little bat stamped emblem at the top. Mine is darker on one side than the other and slightly off-center. Everything about this box (except the price, of course) looks and feels cheap.

Very nice product, but shipping was a little slow. I gave these as gifts to two relatives on Christmas, and they were both delighted.
