I purchased this house last year in hope that it would be filled with bluebirds soon. I put it on a wooden fence post under a tree away from my bird feeders and had
a whole family of bluebirds in no time. I will order more this year. After reading up on bluebirds the boxes have to be at least 100 feet apart. They like us prefer their own space. This is a quality constructed house at a great price. Thank you!

This is a very well built and attractive bluebird house, and I'm sure placed in the proper place it would serve its purpose well. But there's a BUT. Unless you are familiar with attracting bluebirds, don't buy this until you've read up on the subject. These work best when placed near the edge of large clearings - not necessarily in your back yard. Unless your backyard faces a golf course, or you live in the country with open fields, you'll not attract bluebirds. Sparrows yes. Bluebirds require space, so read up on them first. Amazon has some excellent books dealing with bluebirds, and I recommend you check them out before buying this excellent birdhouse.

This is a lovely little nesting box. Copper top is very nice.

However, there is no guarantee of bluebirds choosing it. (We currently have sparrows)

Don't worry about opening the door, nest material stays in place.

I was specifically searching for a functional, long lasting bird house with no shutters or parts that fall off. Copper top sold me and not dissapointed yet.Nice gift for a birdlover.

This birdhouse really works. We were careful to follow mounting and placement instructions and advice. Seems bluebirds are a little fussy about their "neighborhood" so we were careful to put their new home in a desirable location. And if you are diligent and read the info about placement of a bluebird house, you know it really is about location, location, location. Within 2 weeks we had a couple checking it out and they've stayed! We also read about their favorite diet and planted 2 blueberry bushes nearby, plus they have lots of other berries to feast on, in addition to worms and insects. This year we're also buying totally 100% Organic Insect Repellent for our veggie garden, since bluebirds are very susceptible to pesticides. This birdhouse has a lovely copper roof which we like, the front "door" opens easily with a latch for mounting and cleaning, and it's made of cedar so it's a longer lasting birdhouse than a cheaper wood product. Most important, it already has a built in predator guard to keep racoons, cats, and other predators from harming the baby birds. We sit with our binoculars watching our little bluebird family evolve. Love this house. It is made very well and the copper roof should make it last longer. Can't wait for the birds to move in.

This is a great product. It prevents other birds from harassing bluebirds, which was the main reason we purchased it. Besides being functional, the nesting box is very attractive and easy to install.

With this being a Audubon product I expected it be nice and well built. I was way off with my expectations when I opened the box the first thing I thought was the 39.99 I paid was way to high. This product was poorly built and compared to others of similar size and better construction at my local hardware store(Lowes) was only $10.
