the sizing chart states that an XL boot tree will fit a size 13 boot. however, the XL boot tree is just a little short for a size 13 boot and will not stay in place.

The size large fit my 11-D Justin and Dan Post exotic leather western boots well. They are not wide enough to stretch the leather, so if you want that in a boot tree, buy the adjustable ones. These are meant only to keep the boots from folding up or caving in on you in the closet, and because they are designed for boots, they do just that. They go into the boot easily enough and the notch in the heel portion provides a slot for your fingertips to allow easy removal. I actually prefer that to a leather tab or fabric loop since those can break or wear out over time. The cedar wood helps control odor in the boot and may aid in moth prevention in the closet, so I leave them on a shelf in the closet when not in a pair of boots. I own two pair of these trees and will be buying at least one more pair.

I have a pair I'm using to keep my engineer boots in top shape and I couldn't be happier. Not that you'll be looking at shoe trees very much but these looked great out of the box, super craftsmanship and sturdily built. The spring action is a little stiff at first but by now they're easy to pull in and out

    UPDATE:
I guess I dodged this issue the first time around, but beware the sizing here. I ordered another pair of Medium trees to fit some size 8 Doc Martens. They claim to fit 7.5-8.5 and absolutely did not. Fortunately since they're fulfilled by Amazon the process of switching them is pretty painless.

EDIT: To clarify my update above, the mediums were too big.

Smells like cedar, removes moisture, and helps my boots keep their shape. A little stiff getting them in the boots at first, but this isn't anything I haven't experienced with other trees.

When I got these trees I knew it was well built right out of the box. The cedar smell was great and the mechanism to fit the shoe correctly works very well. I have these is Frye Mid-Dakota's and they fit very well. Would recommend this to anyone looking to keep their boots in the best shape for years. Will definitely buy Woodlore again when the need arises.

Bought for my husband. He has a problem with toes on cowboy boots turning up...so far so good. Handle makes it easy to reach in to remove. Going to buy a couple more.

If you have quality boots, you need to have quality boot trees. I have a pair of Tony Lamas and a pair of Justins, that I meticulously care for. These trees help my boots maintain their shape, and the cedar just plain looks and smells good. Regarding size, go large/extra large unless you're a lady. I wear size 10-1/2 boots, but I bought the largest size boot tree they offer, and it fits perfectly due to the spring tension. These trees are solid and reliable. As stated,if you have good boots and want to keep them for the long haul, you need these trees.

It works great and fits great once it's in my boot. However, the metal connector bar in one of the two caatches when you try to compress it while at an angle from the other piece. The problem is I bought these for cowboy boots, so the only way to get them in is to put the front part inside and then try to compress it while it is at a sharp angle. So as a result, every time I put that one in, I have to fight with it quite a bit. Too bad, because otherwise, I really like them.

Fits my size 9E boots pretty well. No complaints there.
