I've used these to repair wooden furniture for over 5 years. They are easy to use, and no glue is necessary. The most difficult part has nothing to do with the product, but when repairing the rungs or backs and legs of chairs, you have to have every one aligned to push them or bang them together. I have found that using a rubber mallet is the best tool to use when doing this. If by chance it comes apart again, just use another piece perpendicular to the first, because the hole was too big to hold with just one. Again not the products fault. The repair was just let go for too long and the hole got larger as time went on. Excellent product, and highly recommended! I've bought many a chair falling apart and repaired them very quickly with this product.

No need to find the dried-out glue. Just use a strip of Mr. Grip, place over the open piece and drive together with the rubber mallet. Fixed as good or better than new.

This is a very simple but brilliant product. I have a set of windows which can be flipped over for cleaning, and the rod that does the turning at the bottom had worked it's way out of the window, destroying the screw hole in the process. As it isn't wood, I wasn't sure what I could use to fill the hole and re-screw it, and then I ran across this. Put it across the whole in an x pattern, placed the screw in, and it's held up ever since.

What a great product! An interior door in our house had been sagging for a while, and it just took a seven year old boy to completely ruin the top hinge by trying with too much enthusiasm to shut it. Not relishing the prospect of taking the door off to drill out the holes and so forth, I found this product and thought it was worth a go. It worked perfectly - the door hangs like new. Not hard to use, but a little fiddly - I found it best to cut a couple of thin strips to the length of the screw thread and insert them into the hole, before putting the screw in between them. The screw makes a thread in the metal strips, and the teeth of the metal strips (these should be facing outward) bite into the wood. Remarkably effective, and a very cheap, quick way to fix a sagging door!

I knew this product existed. There had to be something more stable, and less messy, than glue. With some persistence, finally found it. The absolute best remedy to keep loose dowels in place. Don't just order one package. Order many; for future projects. You will be glad you did. Found out my 85 year old mother ordered this product from a catalog. She also found easy to use, and a perfect fix. Don't know why someone reviewed it hard to use.

I have been seeing this type product in catalogues, but felt it wasn't worth the cost. My chairs continued to come unglued. Finally I went to Amazon and found this little kit. well worth the price. I am 75 yrs old and female, but I put one together and it stayed fixed!
I'm loving it, and now I'm going to fix the others.
Dang! I just checked, and it is coming apart. Go figure.

I used this product to secure a tenon that was loose. I wrapped a couple of strips (after cutting to proper length), and it did secure the repair...however, it was not as secure as a proper repair (cleaning out the glue joint, re-gluing, and proper clamping). For a quick fix, it was fine. I used a fine brad to pin the tenon in place and this helped secure the joint.

The best thing i've ever found to fix dried out chair rungs and refuse to stay in their "holes". These little metal strips do fix the problem, permanently.
