5.0 out of 5 stars Great 80's Dance Tune from the DJ's closet.....
I remember the first time I heard this song...it was at a late night teen dance club in 1985. The beat is steady and really gets you to dance. The nostalgia of "Woody Woodpecker" adds to its charm. They were ahead of their time- sounds a great deal like Snap and Corona- but a fatter sound. Excellent use of synths and sampling! The first two tracks are the...

1.0 out of 5 stars A short advice from a big fan of Video Kids
First I heard Video Kids in the USSR in 1985. Anyone who will listen to this CD-single will never understand Video Kids.I have a full album on CD and it's simply amazing. If you are big fan of European 80's and you know what that music is all about you won't like this CD-single.You need the original album.

3.0 out of 5 stars It's not bad, but album is better, April 25, 2000

I agreed with the previous reviwer, that if you listen just the CD single it is hardly to get right impression 'bout the group. You're needed an album ("The Invasion Of The Spacepeckers", 1984). It's easy, simply contact me by my e-mail.

1.0 out of 5 stars Where's the original version?, May 17, 1999

I was disappointed when I got this CD: A bunch of similar remixes, but the original version from the funny-fresh 1985 song I was missing. Now I still have to look for that original.

This is a desperate plea to whoever may read this: I WANT THE DAMN LP! It had far better songs than this one (although I love it too!) This album for me is an immediate 1985 flashback - please bring it back (oh lord!), *sob*, *sob*...

4.0 out of 5 stars Corny yet fun, April 25, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Woodpeckers from Space (Audio CD)
This first time I heard this song was in 1985. I was studying abroad in Salamanca, Spain and was out partying in the discos. A great dance tune, especially after a few drinks. Reminiscient of Woody Woodpecker (as mentioned by another reviewer), this song is corny yet downright fun to dance to. Kids would love it. It's also great for wedding receptions---ranks up there with the Hokey Pokey, Bird Dance and the Macarena.

They were ahead of their time- sounds a great deal like Snap and Corona- but a fatter sound. Excellent use of synths and sampling! The first two tracks are the best-dancy. The others are mixed with a pop tune:yuck. Another thing I could do without is the Woodpecker rap in the song, but it's cute. Dance and have FUN!!!!
