The one I received (a couple of months ago) is slow by about 10 minutes a day. Right from the git-go, it had this problem. So every few days, I have to correct the time. It's not a huge inconvenience. The dial with the "Time Now" pointer has to be turned so that the pointer is lined up with the current time. It only takes a few seconds, but it would be nice if I didn't have to regularly do that. At $8 (today's price at Amazon), I don't think this is an especially good deal.
One other thing. It makes a lot of noise. So much so that I used a towel to muffle the sound until I was able to replace it with a better timer.

After 2 months service controlling a 75W floor-mounted fan, I'm satisfied with my purchase. For a low-power, light-duty application such as this, the timer is convenient, well designed and adequately robust.
I purchased this gadget to control a floor-mounted electric fan, and it serves that light-duty application just fine, so far. The design is quite convenient. It's really simple and easy to set the on/off duratior ns by raising/lowering a group of "flippers"; it's a much better design than the removable clips on the Intermatic products. (Intermatic on/off toggles are easily lost, and their products only provide 3 intervals. This equipment provides all 48 possible settings at all times, without a lot of fuss and bother, and without losing the setters.) I also liked the manual bypass switch. Much more convenient than the rotary switch found on the competing intermatic products. The 3-prong, "earthed", side mounted outlet was a key selection criteria; safety is vastly greater with grounded equipment. For a heavy-duty application, such as a large motor (ie. Swimming pool pump) or heater (ie. Space heater), I'd likely spend a few bucks more for a heavy-duty Intermatic timer, such as their WH40 (Little Grey Box) that's been running my water heater for almost 25 years. (http://www.amazon.com/Intermatic-WH40-Electric-Water-Heater/dp/B00004W4XI) For ten bucks, this is perfectly adequate, and well designed.

Doesn't keep time over a day. It may be worth it to pay more for a better one.
