Foot Switch Power Strip

I set this up under my computer so I could turn the whole thing off (including the peripherals with DC converters). Turning it off with my foot turned out to be a little tricky, I often have to push the button down several times before it takes, especially when turning it off. It would probably work better if the switch weren't so far under the desk (but then I'd have to deal with tripping over the cords, which would defeat the purpose).

Ordered this item to make it easy to turn on several lights at my workstation. I opened it up, plugged in a nighlight for testing and immediately noticed a major problem. The foot power switch is unreliable. Tap once the power usually does not come on. Fiddling with the switch gets the power on, but the slightest touch can trigger it to go off again.

This is going back.

Update with replacement: same problem as the last one. The switch is completely useless.
