The packaging leaks. Deet is a powerful chemical that will melt plastic and destroy synthetic clothing fibers. I purchased 4 of these and all of them ate through their packaging rendering them useless (I received them this way). It was a sticky gooey mess and the whole thing was a waste of money.

Took two pump bottles on a camping trip in the Sierras and they leaked terrible! Fortunately I had double-bagged them in Ziplock bags. I was able to spread the leakage on my body by hand, which did keep the mosquitos off for hours.

I just returned from a backpack trip into the Sierra's. I brought along the 1 oz. Deep Woods Off! for Sportsman. After climbing over a high 11,000' pass, I discovered half the liquid leaked out (even though I kept it in a plastic bag) and spread over my backpack. The liquid melted part of another plastic container and I think it is slowly disolving the nylon on the Kelty packpack. I tried washing it off the pack with soap, but the sticky-ness does not seem to clean off. Why would a company design a product called "Deep Woods" and "For Sportman" if it cannot withstand a backpack trip?

It's true that you might experience problems with the packaging but for the most part it wasn't a big deal for me. Just double bag it. I can depend on this product in desperate situations!! Use it only when you really need it though.

I can't believe that this product is 10 times more costly than it's competitors. Must be an error!

I grew sick and tired of getting biten by mosquitos everytime I travelled. Every repellent I ever bought did nothing to deter mosquitos. Finally a repellent that actually repells!

Use this stuff when it really matters whether or not you get bit. This product is essential if you are in extreme insect conditions. If you are facing the most determined Southern chiggers, such as while picking blackberries, use this product. Chigger bites are nothing to trifle with, so don't mess around, use this 98 percent DEET product. If you are facing the black flies, deer flies, mosquitoes and tiny biting midges also known as no-see-ums all found in the Adirondacks of upstate New York, guarantee no bites by using this concentrated DEET product. If you don't want ANY insect bites, use the best, the most potent, the most powerful DEET product: this product! Due to the high concentration of DEET, this product lasts many hours, and survives heavy sweating in hot, humid conditions such as found in the Mississippi Delta in July.
