A Great Finale!, April 4, 2011
This review is from: Deep In the Woods (Vampire Babylon) (Mass Market Paperback)
With the 6th, and final, installment of the Vampire Babylon Series, Chris Marie Green brings to conclusion Costin's search for the "Dragon" and wins him the chance to reclaim his soul.
The members of Limpet & Associates have "possession" of one of the two Underground Masters, Claudius (aka Claudia), and the girls of Queenshill are determined to get to him. Oh, they don't want to rescue him! They want to kill him. They are tired pf playing second fiddle to Claudius when it comes to Wolfie's affections and they are determined to rectify the situation for good.
Driven to the secondary Head Quarters as a result of the attack by the "girls", Dawn is forced to reveal that Costin is gone. He's already set out to destroy the underground and has left explicit instructions not to follow. Understandably, some of the members are upset and Dawn is extremely worried. He should have been back by now. But back "from where" is the problem. Costin didn't divulge this information to Dawn, so it`s up to her figure out his intended location and finish the destruction of the Underground, should he be unsuccessful. Under no circumstances is Dawn to make an attempt to rescue Costin. The destruction of the underground is the first and only priority.
With Vampires, Spirits, and Friends (ghosts) readers will most definitely be kept turning page after page, reading installment after installment! And alas, many readers may find themselves, as I have, a little sad that the adventure is over. But do not fret, the ending is a great one and I am sure there will be many more great adventures to come from this amazing author, Chris Marie Green!

top notch urban fantasy, March 4, 2010
This review is from: Deep In the Woods (Vampire Babylon) (Mass Market Paperback)
In London, vampire hunter Dawn Madison leads her team on a mission to destroy the Underground. They have captured a female master who they interrogate; learning there is another master who, like their prisoner, can shapeshift.
At Queenshill School, the Underground turned the coeds into undead teens who are willing to die to rescue their female master from Dawn. Dawn's team leader and lover Costin remains bound to Jonah's vampire body, which is costing him his Soul Traveler power at a time he needs every resource he possesses to defeat the Underground as he has gone under the school's ground in search of the master.
Following the Los Angeles Underground mission accomplished, Dawn's search for the London Underground continues in the latest Vampire Babylon tale (see The Path of Razors), but the culture is radically different yet as dark and gritty. Dawn remains a lean mean fighting machine but since that short stretch as a vampire turned back to human, she struggles with an internal fuse that ignites too easily. Complex relations make the Vampire Babylon series a top notch urban fantasy filled with twists, turns and challenges fans have come to expect from Chris Marie Greene.
