I purchased the chimes to put out by my mother's grave. When I'm out there you can actually hear parts of the Amazing Grace song. It's beautiful. Very well made chimes. These chimes can be heard all over the cemetery. Beautiful & peaceful!!! Love the way they look, love the way they sound...

Woodstock makes several beautiful chime models, many of which "play" the notes of a well-known composition. Of course, this would be the deconstructionist version, because the notes sound in a semi-random order determined by the strength and direction of the wind, and perhaps the size of the individual chimes. No matter what order, however, the familiarity of "Amazing Grace" makes whatever notes sound recognizable as a variant. The tones are clear and beautful. The chime is simple, rather than overly worked or decorous, but that is perhaps most appropriate for "AMazing Grace," anyway. A little pricier than I would like, but this makes an excellent gift that can be enjoyed on several leverls: Visually, aurally, as text, and as part of a larger indoor or outdoor environment.

I believe in quality, even if I have to pay a little extra for a product. These chimes, when a breeze hits it just right, actually play the first 6 notes of the hymn 'Amazing Grace'. The sound is strong and the wood is beautiful. I liked it enough to buy another one for a gift!

I love the Woodstock Company. Just an FYI for everybody purchasing Woodstock chimes. I have several of them and my favorite one broke 10 years later. I called the company and no questions asked. They sent me the piece(s) I needed immediately. I was so impressed with ALL of their help. The second time on the same chime, I called and they sent out new strings. Now it's back to new. Tremendous company! Now I will only buy Woodstock chimes. I wanted everyone who loves chimes to know this:)

Although I'm not sure I can hear Amazing Grace, this is a delightful chime in the back yard. I'm really enjoying it.

I ordered the "Woodstock Percussion AGLS Amazing Grace, Large." The chimes sound beautiful, & the whole piece looks very nice. However, the product description lists this item as "Large, over 40 inches." When I received it, I was frustrated to find that the metal tubes are only about 18 inches. In hindsight, I now see that the 40 inch measurement refereed to the entire piece, from the top of the loop it hangs from to the bottom of the wind-catching wood piece at the bottom of the center sting. The shorter tubes make for higher pitched notes. So I have to say that the product description is very misleading. Actually downright deceptive. Also, as someone else mentioned in their review, the chimes sound nothing like the song "Amazing Grace," but I didn't expect them to & I hope you don't either- the melody of that song would require the striking of the chimes in a certain order, in a specific tempo, which is a lot to expect from, you know, the wind. All in all, it's a well made & beautiful piece, but don't expect to get something that is actually 40 inches.

In answer to the review mentioning that the cords are "just string" and will only last for one season, I've had a number of Woodstock chimes in my yard for many years now and most of them have lasted between 7 and 10 years, sometimes longer. While even one season's worth of their beautiful tones would be well worth the price, they last much longer than that and in my own estimation have paid for themselves many times over. I also have some chimes on metal "cords" that will probably outlive me, and although pleasant enough, they're no match for sound quality.

These wind chimes are just amazing and are so wonderful to listen to. I have since purchased a second set of Woodstock wind chimes from Amazon. I have often wondered what it was like on my front porch without these wonderful chimes. I regret not making this purchase many years ago. I have had many wind chimes, but nothing compares with these, these are the greatest! I highly recommend this item, you will love the wind chimes. I plan on giving several for gifts to my loved ones for birthday, etc.
Any & all that see & hear the chimes just falls in love with the sound that they continually make as the wind blows.

One morning this spring I went to the backyard, where I have multiple windchimes that I got at various inexpensive places, and listened. I realized I needed some quality sounds to compliment the spring wind. I went to Amazon and was able to put in the type of sound I wanted and get a nice selection to choose from and I got Amazing Grace. Do I hear anything that sounds like Amazing Grace, NO but do I hear quality, not tinkling sounds, YES. The quality if fantastic, even my husband said he will sit back there and listen to the chimes and even help them along sometimes when it is windy. By the way, there doesn't need much wind to sound.

This is a well made, good looking product. It does produce a full bodied sound, so if you live in a "tight" neighborhood you may want to consider your neighbors sensitivity to the sound.
