Bought this at a higher price elsewhere, last winter. Held up beautifully on a cover porch. It has a lovely deep throated musical quality. Very unobtrusive & soothing. I love all my woodstock items & have many. Nothing clashes!

The Emperor Gong chime looks great and sounds interesting and pleasant. It isn't loud like a gong, but more delicate. The tone is unlike any other chime I have. I gave one as a gift and they loved it.

As someone who has experience in Eastern and Western cultures, I found this gong to be beautiful and totally authentic in its rich sound of the Far East. (In fact, it's made in China!) I also think its graceful design truly captures the culture's splendor. I've seen it sold elsewhere at the full list price and understand it's always a best-seller! And it's very durable!

The gong was purchased as a gift for a good friend that loves wind chimes. This was certainly the most unique for her collection and she was thrilled. Excellent value as well.

i bought this for my mother's birthday (she's a collector of chimes), and it's definitely the standout piece and sound amongst her collection. it has a steady, deep resonance that is never rushed no matter the speed of wind (unlike the dinkier chimes that sound as if they're just crashing into each other), so the construction is spot-on. i got her the small, the loud produces a deeper, more bass sound. i liked it so much i got one for myself in my garden in france (where i might add they sell for outrageous prices). if you're into chimes or anything zen/japanese related, it won't be regretted.

Have had this gong hanging in 3 different places outside my house...even in the strongest of wind, it doesn't gong. The whole thing blows, but, never does the striker actually hit the gong. Save your money!

This was one of the finishing touches for my recently completed Japanese rock garden. I hung it from a planter hook and many people have specifically took notice.

This pretty gong is high-maintenance for very little sound. I hung it on a lightly-breezy location of my lanai/porch but it rarely sounded. The cord/ball often twisted to the wrong side, making it impossible to sound, and I often found myself flipping it back to the right position...but I still rarely heard it. Several months later, a string broke and the metal dented after falling. Great idea, but way too expensive just for the concept.

Forget the cheaper version of this gong/chime...this is really a well made a rich sounding gong/chime...and the price is right here on Amazon...

This is not your same old wind chimes (not that there's anything wrong with them). The unique look and sound of my Emperor Gong make it perfect to hang in my front entrance way.

It can get tangled in a strong wind. But that is easily fixed.
