Gale Bell maybe...and TINY!,
By
This review is from: Woodstock Percussion CAW Castings Acorn Windbell (Lawn & Patio)
I would send it back... at 9.99 + S/H of 2.95 I feel a little ripped off... But it is not worth my time to return it. The craftsmanship is fine, but it takes a gale force wind to move the leaf "chime/bell" and it does not provide a nice sound when it does. This is where buying on line is not always a good idea. In addition, it is also very TINY. The acorn is about an inch long. There was no reference for the size in the picture and the word "bell" to me means, well... BELL. No wonder this item was so discounted! I would have never purchased this item if I had seen it in a store... I cannot recommend even at the discount price.

Effective to alert dogs to squirrels at bird feeder,
By Christine "Christine" (San Marcos, TX) - See all my reviews

I've used this little bell on my bird feeder. When the squirrels land on the feeder, they upset the sturdy bell, which is actually quite loud for its size. My dogs have been conditioned like Pavlov's that when this bell goes off, squirrels will be running! It's beautiful and looks good on the feeder. It has lasted outside in the elements for 3 years (in Texas: pouring rain, intense heat, freezing temps, various humidity, etc) and it still works and has original cord. I recommend this as a bell.

Acorn Windchime,
By PKP (Stratford, CT) - See all my reviews

This item has eye appeal and looks good in a natural environment, however, it takes a good wind to move the chime---and the resulting sound is nothing to write home about. I guess that is why it's called a windbell rather than a windchime.

Cute but small,

I was shocked when I received this chime! I know it said it was small but when I opened the box I could not believe my eyes it is a nicely made chime but I wanted it for outside on my patio but when I saw the size I decided to put it as a pull on my diningroom fan/light fixture. I Wish it had been bigger because it is a nice theme but it does need to be a bigger size so we can see it at a distance. If you like small chimes and have limited space this will make a nice indoor chime for you.

bell I recieved is not the bell in the picture,

The bell they sent me is similar in style but is not the same one in the picture. The acorn is a slightly different shape, has a different texture to it, and the leaf is completely different than the one pictured. It's not nearly as pretty as the one in the picture looks. Be careful ordering, because you might not get what you think you're getting.

This bell is not 13 inches long, 8 inches maybe. They are counting the hanging string. Its very small, the acorn is the size of a golf ball. The leaf is not the nice one in the picture, its just a plain leaf and out of proportion with the bell. No way any wind will ever make it chime seems the leaf weighs nothing, not even enough to straighten out the cord from the bottom of the bell. The acorn looks nothing like the picture, mine has very little detail, it is nice and heavy thats all I can say.

This is a lovely and enchanting windchime. Yes, it's petite but that's what makes it so pretty. It is very well made and has a certain amount of weight to it, considering its size. I could see this dangling on the branch of a tree, in fact, I could imagine several placed on the branches of a tree. The chime has a lovely lilting sound and if I received this as a gift, I would be very pleased. I plan on purchasing more in the future as little gifts and remembrances for friends.
Definitely well made and worth the money.

totally worthless,

From the way it was advertised I thought this would be a neat complement to the other chime I ordered. Ha Ha ! The clapper was tied too high making it impossible to emit any sound...after untying the string holding the clapper (which was very difficult to do) and retying it so the clapper would contact the bottom rim of the bell the only sound was a dead "clunk"...like two pieces of lead trying to sound like a chime...I don't think so. Buy this item if you want to throw away your money!
