The gong is great now that I repaired it. The box it was shipped in was open, there was no packing paper to protect it. The leather strings used to hang it were very flimsy, and one of them was broken. I had to replace those, but once I got it hung, it looks great. I would only suggest that the company pack the merchandise a little better.

I ordered this gong and it was delivered in damaged packaging. The cardboard box containing the product is very flimsy, and only packed inside with paper wadding. The gong is acceptable quality, but the support frame is painted rough metal (not worth the price), and came bent. The gong striker had fallen out of the box. I returned it.

I bought this gong for my boyfriend for Christmas - he collects them. After I had purchased it, I read the reviews (guess I should have done that first!). Seems like this gong has previously arrived damaged, and packaged poorly. I got nervous and was really hoping that it would be okay, since I didn't want to deal with the hassle of returning it.

I was pleasantly surprised! The gong was packaged VERY well, and was not damaged at all. It does not seem cheaply made to me - I think the price was good. I have bought my boyfriend many gongs, and while this one did cost a bit more than others I have purchased (for the size), this one makes a great noise - a true "gong" sound...not muffled like others I have bought him. I think the sound it makes compensates for the price.

I was pleasantly surprised with the beauty of this gong but the sound was even more amazing. It has a deep sound when you hit it lightly and the vibration is long lasting for such a small gong. Good looking dark metal stand with shimmering gold colored gong. I use it in my spa room for prayer and meditation but it would also be good in any room.

L bought this gong for my girlfriend for her birthday. We are both very satisfied with this product. There was no problem with shipping or the product. They sound is fluid and soothing, I wold buy another Woodstock product and Amazon .com again.

When I first got my gong I rang it and the sound amplified very well. I have an asian-style room and it fits in perfectly! Good, clear gong sound.

Very nice sound. Looks great and was delivered timely. I do wish it was a little bigger for the price. Other than that I loved it.

I decided to review this item when, for no reason I can discern, it was recommended to me by Amazon. I am not currently in the market for a gong, Chinese or otherwise, however I can assure everyone reading this, that when, on some special day in my future, an inner voice importunes me to furbish a particularly meditative sector of my home with a large reverberating metal platter, that this specific one will be amongst those given special consideration for purchase. Additionally, I have been mulling over the possibility of adding a live-in Asian chef to my domestic staff, and if that plan comes to fruition, I intend to have he or she beckon my family to the dinner table each evening by vigorously gonging us forth, quite possibly with this very item. If it's a gong you've been looking for, I suggest you order this item without delay. Remember the old saying: "Here today, gong tomorrow!"
