This gong is also on my desk (as a teacher) and it is an outstanding piece. I was worried that it would be cheap or chintzy, but it is a quality piece of equipment that has a great tone on top of being very attractive. Excellent purchase in my own opinion; people love this piece.

If you're looking for a gong with a traditional, deep, gong sound, this isn't the gong for you. However, despite its somewhat annoying tinny sound, it makes a good novelty gift and can add a unique Asian touch to your decor. This gong is not a toy so I wouldn't recommend you leave it alone with any children under 7 years old as they could break it and although you might love children, the noise (and children) will eventually get on your nerves.

this gong is a great gift for business, for the family or any person. It is simple, the sound is great.

I bought this gong because it matched my decor and seemed like an unusual piece. I am very happy with it. It has a wonderful ringing sound. It is made fairly well, however I gave this item 4 stars because the wood frame on mine is slightly uneven, but considering the price it is good quality workmanship.

This gong looks great, but sounds terrible. I bought it to use at a junior high school to reward students for their achievements on tests, however when it arrived on for the legs was loose and the screw was made of brass and stripped when I attempted to fix it. The sound that was posted with this gong must have been from a perfect example or another product. I can make the same sound using pans. I sent it back, Amazon was great with the return and purchased a Zildjian instead. If you are looking for a decorative piece, this gong is great, however if you want it to function spend more on a real gong.

Nice Product but for something labeled "Desk" i thought it would be a little smaller lol.. This thing is about the size of 1/2 a cereal box. It looks better on a Bookshelf than a desk. Otherwise decent quality and gong.

This is a very nice little gong. It is daintier than others I have seen, but it makes a nice accent piece in my living room and has a nice ring to it. I am pleased with this purchase and would buy again.

I work as an administrator in a medical center reversing days denied by insurance companies. I hit the desk gong whenever I get a day reversed. It works well, is made solidly and gives my coworkers a laugh

...plus its just kinda cool to own a gong! After banging a gong in a Chinese restaurant, I had to get one for myself. Of course, this one is much smaller, but I think that it has a nice sound. Very satisfied with the product.

I bought my wife this for Christmas. She LOVES it. It is simple and unassuming in appearance, but still looks pretty sharp. The sound is decent for the size. We use the gong to celebrate notable accomplishments for ourselves and our kids...they get excited about getting to "gong the gong" when they complete a goal they've set for themselves.
