41/2 Bang a Gong,
This review is from: Woodstock Temple Bells Quintet, Copper (Lawn & Patio)
Woodstock Chimes are probably the most popular, and they're well constructed, balanced, and cleverly promoted. Some of their chimes, for example, have tubes that sound the first few notes of a classical piece. You not only get the pleasing sound of the chimes, but the pleasure of recognizing (or telling someone about) an ACTUAL musical work.
SOme may prefer the more direct aesthetic of these "bells." WIth its simple, classic design, and pleasing sounds, the chime doesn't seem to strive for something it is not. OF course, Woodstock sells these as "Temple Bells," but there's nothing inherently religious, sacred, or otherwise "Temply" about them. That said, the Temple Bells sound is more subtle than chimes; I'd say they were more like muted bells, with little sustain. For those who want something quieter, perhaps more meditative, these may be the way to go. You can hear them, but they aren't so jangly or high-pitched become either annoying or cheap-sounding. Another excellent product, fairly priced, from Woodstock

Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Woodstock Temple Bells Quintet, Copper (Lawn & Patio)
I was very pleased with this item when I received it. It came in a timely manner and there was no issues of damage in shipping. The item looked to be made of quality materials and I mounted it outside on my porch the same day I got it. The sound and tonality of this item is great! It makes some really soothing noises with barely a minimal breeze. They are not the tinny, jangly sounds of some windchimes, but rounder, deeper, "bell like" tones.
I gave four out of five stars for the simple fact that I have had this product a week and it's already starting to rust. Granted, we have had some rain, but it's not been exposed directly to precipitation, only to the outside air and humidity. I'm not sure if this will affect the sound of the item, but eventually I will have to either try and remove the rust and/or paint the bells. They say these are copper, but copper doesn't rust, so obviously this is a ferrous metal.

beautiful, full copper color, with contrast of black in the center of each bell. Lovely gentle sound. Also, a very good price. Woodstock chimes are dependable for hier beauty, quality, and sound.
