Table Saw Flange,

This is a great product for my table saw. It allowed me to set it up without a dust collection bag. Instead I now plug my shop vac directly to my table saw and the dust has no match. I have a 10" craftsman table saw so with little modification to the cover it worked like a charm.

A replacement flange for underneath my table saw,

I built a custom table saw with router table extension and with the way I had designed the rollable table, I needed the clearance of the dust vent at the bottom that the included dust collection vent did not provide. This worked perfectly for the task. There is no problems with the quality of this flange. If you run into clearance issues as I have, this maybe worth looking into.

The Woodstock W1005 dust Collection Flange is what it clams to be a plastic flange with a 4" dust port in the center. The reason for 4 stars is the price is just a bit steep for an item that I would think costs only a fraction of the retail price to produce, but that being said, so what, you are going to get gouged on anything tool related these days. The quality is good, after all it is only a molded hunk of flat plastic with a hose port in the center there is not much that could be messed up, and there isn't anything messed up. I installed this item beneath an old previously very rusty Sears Table Saw that I am doing the resurrection thing kind of like in a Frankenstein horror movie. After being disassembled and the rust removed and a little body work to the banged up sheet metal and a new arbor and a new set of trunnion bearings I gave it a couple of coats of paint now the thing looks great and runs as smooth as silk. These old saws were not made with dust collection in mind so the bottom is totally open as is the rear panel as the belt drive from the external motor comes in the back of the chassis, a horror for dust collection. As it was you could cough up a lung after being in the shop with it running and tossing sawdust everywhere possible, so some dust collection modifications were mandatory. This flange was just a tad smaller than the base of my saw so I had to build an adapter flange out of a sheet of 1/4" plywood to totally fill the bottom, not a big deal but took some time to make it be nice like the reworked saw that sits on it. A long way to say it does the job it is intended for it is way better than just letting the sawdust go on the shop floor. Not an ideal installation in my case but it works just fine. Happy with this product, would buy again. |
