The quick release function is worthless. But everything else is solid. 75lbs of cast iron. At first I was put off by the high speed. But after making some cutouts I experienced how useful it is (over say a variable speed). First your scrolling slow around a tight spot, then when you get out on a straightaway you just flip the switch into high gear and it rocks big time. Excellent saw, I'm glad I bought it.

I have this in the old Craftsman colors / name tag (no longer sold by them). This saw is nice and heavy (something you want). Lots of cast iron to help keep vibrations down. Not mentioned is the quick turn blade tension release. You turn the large knob in the back and it releases the blade tension quickly. The little knob is used for actual tension. If you used pine blades they go in the left side of the blade holders. If you use plain blades they go to the right in the blade holders, basically the blade shifts over about 3/8's of an inch depending on which one you use. Using pinned blades is a snap with the quick blade tension knob. Plane blades you might have to do fine adjusting of the tension knob.

Having just 2 speeds I have found no limits. But I am not as serious as some scrollers are. The blower is just a small bellows the upper arm actuates as it moves up and down. It is not adjustable for amount of air blown nor what it's aimed at. As the line has a mount in the work hold down. You could probably modify it to be able to move it around.

The table is nice and big. There are no detents for angles. It only goes 45 degrees to the left (as your facing it). The motor is in the way for it to angle to the right. The hold down is better than some of the cheap plastic ones that cheaper saws have. But its pretty basic in design. The hold down does limit vision as its just flat metal bent in a curved fashion (covers lines to the left and right side of the blade (probably 3/8" wide each side is hidden by it). Like any saw fine blades and slow feed you really don't need the hold down. And just raise it out of the way.

I have not used a high end scroll saw so can't really compare vibrations.
