It was good to see this book and know that not much has changed over the three decades since it was published. I bought it because I collect books. Still valuable as a reference: How is that joint made? The answer is here...

Okay, this doesn't have super snazzy formatting, and the pictures are black and white of someone using hand tools to cut joints in wood.

The content is amazing, though. I've never seen anything nearly this complete in talking about joinery; other books skip things that this book goes into detail on. It shows you every joint I can think of, how to cut it, when it's used, how it's strong, and how it's weak.

I'm really surprised this is out of print, as it's the best book on the subject I've found.

This book will walk you through just about every joint you might need for western style cabinet making. A good value but if you can find the hardbound Evens edition, you get better illustrations. Same illustrations, it is just that they have deteriorated from the copying process.
