3.0 out of 5 stars Overall vague but does have a couple of tips, December 6, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Woof: A Guide to Dog Training [VHS] (VHS Tape)
I thought the video was more about showing how well Matty can train a dog versus actually showing me how to train my dog. It had a couple of useful tips but alot of issues are dealt with very quickly without any real depth. good video to start with.

5.0 out of 5 stars Uncle Matty shows how to teach your dog right!, June 26, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Woof: A Guide to Dog Training [VHS] (VHS Tape)
From his initial bonding with each dog to covering each training command, Matthew Margolis takes a no-nonsense approach to training the people as well as the dogs. His methods emphasize praise and affection, rather than harshness. He demonstrates effectively that most training problems are generated by the owner, rather than the dog, and shows how to communicate effectively to establish a good working relationship with each type of dog. If you have a dog, or if you want a dog, this is a must-see video.

1.0 out of 5 stars A very unfriendly approach to dog training, June 4, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Woof: A Guide to Dog Training [VHS] (VHS Tape)
Whereas Mr. Margolis has an abundance of video charisma WITH PEOPLE, his dog 'training methods' are VERY unfriendly. Why do dogs let him do this stuff? It's cruel.
