4.0 out of 5 stars Making cutting in a breeze!, May 15, 2006
This review is from: Wooster Brush 8619 Pelican Hand Held 1 Quart Pail (Tools & Home Improvement)
The Pelican Paint Bucket is a great way to keep brush and roller under control going up and down the ladder and when you're done and ready to switch to full-size roller. I like to use both a roller and brush to cut in. I always had a hard time knowing what to do with the tool I wasn't using. The magnet keeps the brush out of the paint. Only shortcoming is the lack of a cover.

5.0 out of 5 stars Get this! Make your painting-life easier., September 30, 2011
This review is from: Wooster Brush 8619 Pelican Hand Held 1 Quart Pail (Tools & Home Improvement)
This product is fantastic. It his high quality, stable, and extremely well designed for years of paint productivity. It is indispensable as a cut-in bucket as it securely holds your trim brush and a mini roller. It has been a tireless workhorse in my current paint project which involves cabinet painting, trim painting and wall painting. The liners are a must-have, too. You will not be disappointed with the purchase, and you will wonder how you managed so long without one.

This is my favorite paint can; it holds my brush with its strong magnet, the grooves deliver the right amount of paint, cleans easily if you don't want to use its liners (sold separately).

I highly recommend this product. I paint frequently for family or around my condo. This allows you to keep things close at hand and neat. The magnet for the brush and the way it stores roller allow you to go from one need to the next. Saves steps (not pun intended), especially when doing ladder work!

Excellent quality. Stays on your hand. Easy to clean too!

Happy Painting!

4.0 out of 5 stars Larger than I expected., December 12, 2010

Seems to be well constructed, however, it is larger than I expected, guess I misjudged the "1 qt. size". I have had similar slightly smaller hand held paint pails that were more in the 2/3 to 3/4 qt size and they were much handier than this one. Still, it is functional and very well made.

5.0 out of 5 stars Very helpful, August 7, 2010
This review is from: Wooster Brush 8619 Pelican Hand Held 1 Quart Pail (Tools & Home Improvement)
This is a great product for trim painting of all kinds. As mentioned, a magnet on the handle keeps brushes out of the paint, and it's wide enough for a trim roller. It is held by cupping your hand through the handle, and so is secure and easy to use; it's also light enough that it can be used for long periods without becoming fatiguing. The availability of plastic pail liners--about $2.00 each--makes it easy to keep different paints available, or simply to keep the pail itself looking pristine. It's a timesaver. Two other reviewers have mentioned the lack of a cover: a cover might be nice, although the point is to keep brushes and paint in a single location, so there's some limited usefulness there. When I've needed to take a break I find that I can cover the paint (and brush handle) with aluminum foil--the seal isn't tight enough to last all night, but it will serve if you need to stop for a quick lunch.

5.0 out of 5 stars Wooster's Pelican Paint Pail, April 13, 2010
This review is from: Wooster Brush 8619 Pelican Hand Held 1 Quart Pail (Tools & Home Improvement)
This pail is the slickest thing since sliced bread. I've always had to work out of two different containers when trimming, now I just use the pelican. It holds a trim roller and a paint brush at the same time so switching from one or the other is easy. But the coolest thing is the magnet. It's somewhere in the plastic and it really holds the brush securely. The other products like this their magnets start rusting and it runs down into the paint. The rubber handle or grip expands so it fits big hands like mine. The only con about it is there isn't a cover.
