I'm giving this Bible 4 stars, because I don't have it YET (I'M HOPING IT WILL TURN INTO 5 STARS, I'LL UPDATE REVIEW AFTER I RECEIVE AND REVIEW THE BOOK). I'm ordering it today--but as a few people have also inquired, I TOO wanted to KNOW what the 26 different translations were before I purchased this bible.

I've done the research for YOU and me and found which 26 versions this book uses (Hooray)! I use this for at home bible reading and study. This is a great work! Quite amazing actually. The KJV text is in bold black type and numerous translations are in standard type positioned immediately beneath the corresponding line, phrase or KJV verse. The format is superb and fast reading. I looked at many, many other parallel and interlinear bibles before this one. This is the best of all. I STRONGLY recommend The Word.

"The Word" is the most helpfull Bible I have ever used in my 25 years of study. Let's face it, unless you are a Greek or Hebrew scholar, you may be missing out on the sense of a verse. You may wonder "Just what is God trying to say here?" This book offers up the best of all the translations together in a neat bouquet. Among them a sturdy sense of the meaning is gained with out a great deal of effort. Not only is fuller sense of each verse gained, but reading the verse over and over again in 4 or 5 translations plants the meaning deep in your heart and ministers to us in a way that a quick reading of one translation can not do.

Most of us routinely refer to only one or two translations a week in our personal devotions. We are missing out! This book is a great opportunity to deepen your understanding of God and his Word. The Bible, although dismissed by some as myth, is just as immediate and relevant to our life today as tomorrow's newspaper. Human nature has not changed and the gripping stories of disasters, dangers, battles, triumphs, passions, pride, true loves, sorrows, and salvation of people are still facinating. They warn us, teach us, inspire us and strengthen us. For we learn to awe an unfathomably great God, not a distance absentee landlord, but an infintely personal and loving God who sacrificed the best He had, His uniquely born son Jesus Christ, as a final answer to the world's one and only problem: sin.

"The Word", in it's rainbow of translations, brings a new vibrance to the Bible. So if your Bible is gathering dust on a shelf some where, try reading this presentaion of the scriptures and see if a new light is shed on such questions as: who God is, who you are, the meaning of life, what happens when we die, how can I make my marriage work, how do I raise children, etc. - all the BIG questions of life. God has answers, but it is up to us to make an effort to hear them. This special version makes it easier to listen.
