I taught first grade last year, and my students LOVED using this book! Their favorite song was about "Rick and Nick are feeling sick, call the doctor quick, quick, quick!" sung to the tune of "Clementine." We used it at least once a week to introduce a new word family or to review an old one. We played games with it, and it was available quite often as a center. It comes with a CD but I don't think I ever used it because I had a piano in my room, so I just played along!

My students find these songs very engaging. They love coming up and pointing at the words with a ruler while we sing. Even the shy students get involved.

My first grade students absolutely love these songs. Each song is a fun and easy way for students to learn and practice word families/word chunks. I use the flip book as a center. It is one of the the kid's favorite. They play the CD over and over and happily and willingly practice reading!!!

My daughters and I absolutely love this flip chart and CD set. We use it at home all the time. They dance to it, they follow the words with their little fingers and we even have our favorite songs. What's hard for my little girls to do is flip the pages. I wish it came as a book as well as a flip chart.

My daughters kindergarten teacher asked for this item originally from Scholastic Books. I was unable to find it on Scholastic but Amazon never disappoints. Bought it for less than I thought it was originally and it was brand new! This is a great gift for kindergarten teachers or anyone working with beginning readers.

I started to use this in my preschool class after our Kindergarten teacher recommended it. I have been using it for 4 years and LOVE it. When we sing them with actions during circle time, my preschoolers ask, "Just one more, please?" We rarely sing less than 5 of them at a time! It helps with phonemic awareness and even ESL and non talkers join in the fun.
