Good for beginners.,

I found I still had to call Microsoft to get things explained. The author is funny but lightweight. I like both these qualities in a microsoft book, I just wish it had more meat.

Good Book To Start With,

I just finished this book and found it to be helpful in learning many of the unbelievable number of things you can do in Word. Gookin's humor is a bit sophmoric, but you get used to it. After a while, you even like it. I think the book could have been a little "meatier", for example, in the areas of creating style "sheets" and print merge. However, given the fact it's a "Dummies" book, it's worth the price and the time to get through it. I am definitely more competent in Word than I was.
