Editorial Reviews

From the Author

The word mix-ups titles are simply anagram puzzles.  (I.e., you're given all the letters required to form the answer but in a mixed up order).  However, the puzzles themselves can be anything but simple.  Some are quite hard, which is why each has its own uniquely written clue to help out.

Two comments.
(1)  There are actually two independent (2) titles grouped together on Amazon.  One is the "Massive Edition containing more than 1100 puzzles.  The second title is the smaller original title which has 350 anagrams.  They do not overlap in any way, meaning the puzzles are all unique and not repeated between the two titles.  The way they are grouped as two "editions" under the same listing doesn't make that clear.
(2)  These titles were conceived and created BEFORE active content applications were available on the Kindles.  I know that several readers have expressed concern with the fact that these are "only" eBooks.  So please keep that in mind.  I still think they are quite enjoyable to solve and have heard the same sentiment from many people, but I don't wish to mislead anyone into believing that the titles are active content, because they are not.

5.0 out of 5 stars Book of anagrams December 24, 2010
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
This is simply a book of anagram puzzles. Some of them are really easy, but most are challenging and some are very hard.

I love anagrams, so this was an easy purchase for me, especially at 99 cents. Each anagram has a clue and some of them seem worthless at first until you solve a few puzzles and realize that the clue itself is sometimes a bit of a puzzle to figure out which part of it is the hint. After I got used to that I found it quite fun as it becomes sort of two puzzles at once.

There are tons of anagrams. I've played for several hours and have only worked my way through about 1/3 of them.

I think after I finish them all I can probably let it sit for a month or two and play them again without remembering the answers since there are so many of them.

I was indecisive about whether to rate this 4 or 5 stars, but since it's such a great value I went with 5.

5.0 out of 5 stars Mind Exercise January 25, 2013
By Samatha
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I have always enjoyed words games and have 6 of them on my Kindle Touch. They help entertain me while I don't find anything worthwhile to watcgh on TV. They are also a good form of exercise for the mind. This one is more of a challenge than the others I have, but I enjoy it alot.

1.0 out of 5 stars This game does not seem to work May 1, 2014
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I bought this game because I like word puzzles and have enjoyed other games for Kindle. Either this game does not work on my version of kindle, which is a basic Kindle, not Kindle File. Or the game came without directions and those directions are needed to make the game work. I am not able to enter the answer when I unscramble the word or phrase given. I can choose to see the correct answer, but I cannot solve the puzzle myself.

Love it when the solution is obvious. Makes you crazy when it's so simple you don't see it. Love the levels of challenge, but give me Sudoku over this ANYTIME! Good game to keep a senior smart.

Okay, not my favorite but still good for training/stimulating the brain, thought it would be a scoring game, not, just word mix-ups right & wrong. can't hurt to try it.

More About the Author

Keith's regular career (whenever he has active project work) is as a self-employed Control System & Automation Engineer. But he enjoys making people laugh (mostly through humorous stories, but occasionally simply from his looks) and/or making people think, which explains his passion for creating puzzles and games.

Keith focuses on this side pursuit whenever he has the time available (and sometimes even when he doesn't).

It serves as great stress relief and also helps out financially as proceeds from all of his sales are used to offset steep medical expenses for his wife who was recently diagnosed with cancer.
