This is a fabulous game for families. The award winning Word on the Street party game is now even better for family game time.

Kids will have a ton of fun spelling their way to victory. Not only do they get to exercise their creativity by thinking of words that fit a category, but then they get to be challenged with spelling it out. And since they will be working in teams, they don't have to feel bad if they can't do it all themselves. They'll have someone else to help them along the way.

And it doesn't take very long to play - which is good because we can never stop with just one round. Someone is always calling out to play again.

This game is ideally suited to helping children develop critical thinking, spelling, teamwork, and language comprehension skills. If your kids don't usually like educational games, try this game. Because it is in teams, no one player feels pressure and they can work together to come up with creative words to match the categories. Great for ESL or other language specific teaching, but also just a fun family game.

I got this for my sister's family who is very finicky about their games. They think they're the only ones who know how to find a good game. Well, I finally hit the jackpot! They loved this game! The parents, older kids and younger kids! As well as my 2 kids aged 4 and 6.

Even when you've gone through the cards, you don't "know" the perfect answer for the rest of history. Your answer depends on the letters remaining on the board. That will be different every time. So even though screwdriver sounded like a better word last time, if none of the letters are on the board this time, maybe saw would be better.

My kids can read very simple words when they try, so they can't really play on their own. But I would be the "game show host" while they would play against each other. I would tell them the topic, and they would think of words. Then I'd guide them in spelling the word. Let them think first which letters are in it, and then I fill in the missing letters. They don't realize that they are building their spelling skills and their vocabulary skills.

I made up a newer version for us adults which came out a lot of fun:
Put away the timer. No turns. Pull out a card, and whichever team says a word first gets it. But they have to do that word they chose. If they can't do any letters for that word or it doesn't match the topic then the other time gets to choose a word.

I definitely plan to get this game for my house the next time I decide to buy a game.
