Try this app right now on your computer. You control the app with your mouse and keyboard to experience it like you would on your phone. Test drive this app before you buy.
How does this work?
Clicking the “Test drive now” button launches a copy of this app on Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2), a web service that provides on-demand compute capacity in the cloud for developers. When you interact with the simulated phone using your mouse and keyboard, we send those inputs over the Internet to the app running on Amazon EC2 — just like your mobile device would send a finger tap to the app. Our servers then send the video and audio output from the app back to your computer. All this happens in real time, allowing you to explore the features of the app as if it were running on your mobile device.

This is a great word game, my eleven year old son and I really enjoy playing it. I think making the connections helps build vocabulary skills. we like discussing the possible connections that you find in the upper levels.

Game Play:
The game starts by asking you to please check out the instructions. The goal is to drag and stack associated blocks of words that may be linked by meaning or typical use. The words can be synonyms, antonyms, parts of compound words or words that just have to be related through common use. Try not to get stuck with leftover blocks. The key is to link the next block to the one you just placed and remember that the theme of the link may have just changed. The stack does not have to all be of the same theme but only the words that touch.

You can select what type of stack pack grouping you want to play:
* General
* Ordinary
* Familiar
* Regular
* Common
* Usual
* Average

Each stack pack has 40 levels. You can actually arrange the words and get them to stack and then find that the app will not allow you to stack all of the blocks as it believes that while the ones you used are connected, they are not in the proper order. Since many times the links between the words is so weak I find this aspect of the game hard to agree with.

Main Screen:
* News - takes you to a link to download a free game
* Cube - takes you to Amazon to buy more games
* Play
* Question mark
* Settings gear asks you to rate the game, control sounds, reset the game, control the music and signup for the MochiBits newsletter.

What I like:
This is a nice word association game a fun to play. Some of the word associations are weak links but you can figure them out easy enough. It is challenging and interesting to play and can burn up time before you know it.

What I don't like:
Network links to their news, Amazon, rate the game and signup for their newsletter.

3.0 out of 5 stars Fun but ads November 18, 2012

This game is fun and good for the commute. I gave it 3 stars as there are annoying ads for more of their products as well as there is no way to Decline the ads.

3.0 out of 5 stars Fun game but... November 18, 2012

This is a fun idea for a game. It's addictive and gets the brain thinking, however it wouldn't let me stack the word: 'blue' onto the word 'jay'. I'm not really sure why it wouldn't stack, since bluejays exist; this makes me question other combos in the game. Since I just got this game, will keep playing, because it is an enjoyable time killer, but will delete if I find that it's a common occurrence.
UPDATE: I'm deleting this app today for the reason described above.

3.0 out of 5 stars Great potential but... November 18, 2012

I like the vocabulary aspect of the game, but it should let you stack the words how you want to and then give a complete or incorrect / try again. You can just play this by trial and error, although I know that isn't the point.

2.0 out of 5 stars Do the free version, before you buy! June 16, 2012

I agree with reviews that criticized the way the game decides for you what words to stack , and in what order. I just ended a game where I tried three times to stack words that made sense to me, but it wasn't allowed. I was then left with word choices I could only stack by trial and error, not my sense of logic. I finished but had no idea why those words were the game's best choices. Frustrating. I didn't feel like I was learning to build my word association skills. There was something about their idea of a correct association that I just didn't get. Maybe if the gave an explanation I could have gotten more out of it. I would encourage people try the free version, first. If that makes sense to you, go ahead and buy. I like Word to Word better after trying it's free version. I'm going to buy it and uninstall Word Stack.

1.0 out of 5 stars craptastic November 19, 2012

The associations are non-existent in many cases. Bilbo Baggins asks more solvable riddles than this when taking an inventory of his pockets.
